Pass in Review! 2013
Posted by stikpusher on Thursday, January 2, 2014 11:06 PM

Numberswise not a huge year for me. A move at the beginning of the year delayed some projects. But once I got in business again I did complete a few "shelf queens" and overdue projects as well as completing some some start to finish builds in comparatively short order.

54mm Son Tay Raider

1/48 Monogram TBD-1

1/35 Dragon T26E3

1/35 Tamiya T-34/76 Chtz

1/35 Tamiya Type 97 Chi Ha & RPM Tashio 7.7mm Machine Gun

1/35 Tamiya LRDG 30 CWT Chevrolet

1/48 Hobbycraft Hurricane Mk.IIC (48 hour speed build)

and my prideof the year- 1/35 Italeri Tiger I Initial Production (part of a IPMS 2013 Nationals 1st Place Award Winning Group Build)

Nice work Stik!  The armor looks awesome man. I have that same Hurricane about half finished, same paint scheme.  Thanks for showing your year's work.

Thank you Gary. Overall I think it was a good year for me modelwise. That Hurricane is a really decent kit. Not top of the line or perfect, but certainly worth the $10 that I paid for them and it builds up nice enough.I have another HC Mk.IID kit that I will take my time with and dress up a bit one day on here.

You're welcome!  2013 was not a good modeling year for me.  The "muse" was just not upon me for some reason.  I have about three stalled builds at present, and hope to finish all three soon.  Then, I want to complete more of the "Golden Age' fighters I've been acquiring.  I love the late '20s to late '30s when bi-planes reached the end of their development.  I've got the old Lindberg Hawker Fury I done but I have a sh*t-load more in that "collection".  I'd love to see the rest finished and displayed together some day.  Still to come:

Hobbycraft P-26; Lindberg Bristol Bulldog, Lindberg Gloster Gladiator, Lindberg Curtiss Goshawk, Classic Airframes He-51, CA Arado Ar-68, CA Fiat Cr-32; Eduard I-16 Type 10 and Special Hobby I-15.

Whew!!  Haha, the last 5 were all bought in the past week.  Man, I've gotta get back to teaching as all this free time in front of the computer is costing me some bucks.  Now, if I could just get started!

Karl, thank you. Last year I was kind of all over the board. Why limit yourself, right? ;-)

Gary, I picked up a couple of those "golden wings" era kits at last months end of year fundraising auction for IPMS. But monoplanes, and in 1/32. I am really eyeballing making them in early war/1941 colors, in the Pacific. I look forward to seeing your work here this year when the muse returns. She usually does.
