Been a weird winter up here in N. Central BC as well, Vance.  Bizarre temp. swings - we've been as low as -25C and as high as +9C in the same month.  Not a heck of a lot of the white stuff either - been able to shovel everything we've gotten so far with ease (maybe 2 feet total for the season up to now).  Nothing at all like late Oct. of  '06 when we got nailed with 3 feet of snow overnight.

This guy in a hobby shop I went into to check out the other day was going on and on about how this is prime modeling season with everyone stuck inside and that once the weather warms up people don't want to fool with doing models.  I felt that a rather odd assessment, but I guess to each his own.

Actually, we've had a rough winter in these parts so far. Crazy temperature swings, high winds, piles of snow, ice storms followed by plummeting temps... some folks in my area were without power for up to 10 days over the Christmas holidays. So, I guess I've actually found myself inside at the bench more this winter, hiding from the weather?

Three fairly recent completions (Fiat CR.42, IAI Kfir, Seversky P35) and a Polikarpov I.153 that should be wrapped up before too much longer.

Yeah, it's been brutal here in "heaven" too......that's Iowa for those of you in Rio Linda.

Hey Vance, that Hobbycraft P-35 is a blast to build, what markings?

Must be pretty bad, Don, if you're looking at Rochester as a balmy winter destination...  Big Smile

Who knows!  Maybe it is this year..., I noticed this afternoon that the Ohio River is beginning to freeze over in Louisville.  Wonder if there's a local Polar Bear Club???

Good for you, Don. Safe travel to you and all going with you.

As cold as it is here, the good thing is the snow pretty much went away with the 50s we had. That helps a lot.

Tomorrow the weather is supposed to break here. It will be above zero, but not above freezing.

At least forecast sounds good for Saturday when we head south, to Hope It Don't Snow contest in Rochester! It will be above zero, and not much snow.

I like winter and the snow....but I'm done with it for this year.  Bring on the warm weather.

The Super Bowl is almost in my backyard.  There's no way you'll catch me there....It will be so much more comfy to watch this one from home.

On the bench:  Tamyia Mosquito Mk. VI for the '44 group build.  Yes, still.

Ditto on the rollercoaster temperatures. Up to 40 today but going back down to 8 tonight and only up to 20's tomorrow. The foot of snow on the lawn looks great with all the deer and other animal tracks in it. They come from the woods across the road and feed on some of our bushes and trees. Some of the trees are bare up to about 3-1/2 feet. Noticed that a couple of the tracks led right up to the front door this morning. I guess those noises that woke me up last night were the deer bumping up against the front door.

Out of no where the temp here in Forest Hill, Md is in the low 40's today. Not to worry though as tonight it's dropping back to 8 and tomorrow all the up to 16. This is very unusual for this area. We might get a few days of these super low temps a year but this has been going on for a couple of weeks now. It's funny though how after a few days you can actually get used to the low temps. And even though that foot or so of snow I'm looking at out my back door sure is pretty, I can't wait to see the clover and dandelions taking over my lawn.

It was twenty below (actual air temp) this morning with a stiff wind.  Schools closed.  There is a big drift in my drive and I have a doctor's appointment this morning. I hope I can just back through it, as I don't want to get the snow blower out- yesterday was bad enough. It is far worse today!

Right there with you, Don. I sure wish ol' Jack Frost would quit fartin' cold air down our way in Louisville. It was 53 yesterday afternoon, no clouds but windy. This afternoon, 8 and in the morning 0 to -1 or so. At those temps, who cares about a degree or two. Back up to the 40's by the weekend.

At least we don't have the snow pack. It all melted yesterday.

Just down the road from you Don  in South Eastern Wis. Just 2 more days of it  so they say.

First day above 30 and the sun is out I'm getting the grill out and celebrate.

Little cabin fever setting in or is it hobby shop withdrawal . Which ever it is I need to get to a hobby shop. On line browsing just not the same as being at a hobby shop.
