    Glad to see I am not the only one in this category . When I got TRUMPETER'S U.S.S.NORTH CAROLINA it would've been a disaster if I had followed the instructions .They have you build the hull  and above deck details ( without Bottom ) before finishing and then tell you to put the bottom on . This is a recipe for disaster !

    By the way Geezer , how many times have you seen just this problem ?

I am impressed with Trumpeters 1/32 a.c. I have nine 1/32 P-47's yet too build. But there 1/48, seem to be sparse and a little lacking.  Hull last ? I'm not a ship builder, Full size submarines, yes, plastic ships, no. But- that would be a head scratcher. Turn out O.K.?  

Exactly, sometimes I'll even go out of sequence. Not because I don't like how the manufacturer has the assembly laid out, but how I want sections too come together. As long as final assembly is not affected. Sometimes I just want to build the wings before the fuselage,or the landing gear before the motor. But you are correct- DRY FIT FIRST! A hard lesson I have too keep on teaching myself.  

Finally having success with ZVEZDA'S 109F4, Almost through, fuselage being mated to wings. Small sanding then off to paint. Next up Tamiya's P-47D, Half-pint Maj. Robert S. Johnson's first E.T.O. '47.  

Got that wrong his first '47 was a "C" model. Was still half-pint.

How about some pics of the Zvezda 109? I've built a couple Zvezda aircraft kits, and even though I was impressed, I could see how they would be a little tough for someone getting back into modelling again...

Sorry about the delay, still trying too catch up from the snow,and then the rain. I was also impressed with Zvezda's BF-109F. Some things are a little fidgety, but it's getting built. Have to dust off the ol' Nikon then I'll get some pics up.
