I contacted Kinetic and expressed my disappointment  They answered right away apologizing for the problem and asked for pictures.  I sent pictures and they offered to send replacement fuselage, wing and canopy sprues as well as a T-45 Goshawk for the heartburn.  They intimated some earlier quality issues and said the T-45 would show progress on the quality improvement. We'll see, but quality aside I gotta give Kinetic credit for customer service.

I've heard a fairly large quantity of bad things about Kinetic's 1/48 Saab Gripen, so much so that I probably won't risk buying one of their kits of anything. From what you've said, this only reinforces my opinion so far.

I've got it currently on the shelf of shame.  The build is very frustrating.  Getting the cockpit into place is very difficult.  There are no locating pins, you just have to hope it fits in place.  The lower portion of the cockpit interferes with the intakes.  So much so I wasn't able to use the compressor faces.  I overcame all these issues but was so exhausted I shelved the kit.  In my opinion the old Monogram option is still the better kit.  Raised lines and all.

I have never built nor heard anything about this kit, however, you'll probably get more hits and more of a chance of finding someone who has if you post it in the aircraft forum....good luck though, don't write it off totally, maybe build a few other kits and when you get back in the swing of things dust it off and start it back up.

I'm curious to hear from others with opinions or build experience who have built the Kinetic 1/48 A-6A/E. This is my first Kinetic kit and second overall since returning to the hobby after 20 or so years. I just started the build and so far I'm finding many ill fitting parts and less than clear instructions/drawings.

I started with the cockpit and the tub required quite a bit of carving and adjusting to get it to fit right in the fuselage. The fuselage bottom center section took quite a bit of fitting as the tabs holding it were too long not allowing a tight seam and too thick not allowing a flush fit.  The radome is going to require lots of sanding/blending for a good fit to the fuselage.  The canopy, yikes, I'm not sure any amount of sanding/carving is going to make this look right. So far just about every part or assembly I've touched has needed adjusment and fitting.

Is this typical for Kinetic kits, this Kinetic kit in particular or did I just get a lemon. I'm about to put it back in the box and write it off.
