was reading the description in the flyer of the new Revell F/A-18C Hornet (Swiss Air Force)..it states the kit has a two-seat cockpit, detailed EJ200 engine, moveable canards and two configurations for the Thrust Jets and several other features I wasn't aware were available on the Hornet. Also states the kit has separate ailerons and flaps - way to go Revell, it's about time!

Really can't wait to receive this kit and see what it's all about!

My flier came yesterday as well and I didn't pay for a subscription either.  I wasn't about to pay for a monthly catalog that I flip through a couple times.

I'm not too worried about being dropped from their mailing list because I don't subscribe since the mailing labels read "or current resident".

I received the flyer yesterday and I must say I'm overwhelmingly unimpressed!  The set up seems a little chaotic now and the "articles" are not worth having to pay for.  What information they are trying to pass off as "new additions" is all information I can get here for free!  Better quality in pics and info here too.  I saw the comment about the shipping prices going up.  I too noticed that.  It has jumped twice recently and they adjusted the amount for the shipping prices too (ie $.01-19.99 for $6.95).  All this along with the "Out of Stock" issues and and seemingly endless "discount" promotions has really hurt the reputation of their business.  Now don't get me wrong, I have used them for a long time and their customer service is great, but it just seems like something is happening and NOT for the better.  Seeing as I get music catalogs for nothing that are much higher quality than this, I will not be paying for the flyers....besides, you can just go on line and look for what you want.  It is a rare occasion that I ever find anything in the flyer before I do on line.  Funny, they keep saying "Back by popular demand".  Doesn't sound too popular to me.  Just my observations and 2 cents.

The first two flyers are free. I'm not impressed at all and will not be subscribing. They have also raised their shipping charges a bit ago. I've shopped for years with Squadron and really don't understand all this mess. Since Oct  they have been out of stock on a bunch of armor. I started shopping at Dragon on line and haven't looked back, free shipping at $100. And for what they don't have I'll use Sprue Brothers.

I agree 100%.  I won't pay for that  flyer.  I hope someone from Squadron is reading this thread.  Probably not, so those who have strong objections should make their feelings known directly to their customer service dept.  Personally, I don't care.  I use the website when looking for something I need.

It does seem that somebody in Squadron's marketing department hit their head on a rock. I credit them with continuing to try print as a sales tool in the face of overwhelming evidence against it, but my flyer is a real shock - the vaunted added content is practically worthless, and the prices are close to retail for the most part. They're certainly not as good as they were when Squadron had less frequent sales with better discounts.

I'll continue to buy from them when I need something I can't get elsewhere, or  when they have a bargain I can't pass up, but I know I won't be doing as much with them as before despite their excellent shipping and customer service. For what it's worth, there are a few good deals in the current flyer, but I personally don't think a subscription is one of them.

I got my copy today. Did I mention I also got one last week? That means I'm unimpressed twice over and doubly determined not to pay. If they're trying to cover costs by making it a paid subscription wouldn't it make sense to purge their mailing list of duplicates? Somebody is making decisions who shouldn't be.

Mine came the other day, didn't order it either. I did buy yet another armour kit I really didn't need off their 20% off sale early this week though.

Will probably give it to someone at our club meeting this Thursday, didn't see anything I really wanted myself.

Ha-ha-ha!  Yeah I forgot about those stretched of squooshed pictures.  Sometimes the picture of the P-47 looked like an X-3 Stiletto.

Got mine on Monday, skimmed it, then stuck it in the recycling, like I always do.  The new features are nice, but it's not worth it to me to subscribe.  I don't buy based on the catalog, anyway; I can check their website.

Common occurrence even going back to their old single color flyers; every once in a while they would stretch to fit of compress a thumbnail picture to fit in the column.

Got mine Monday.  Am I the only one bothered by the squished graphics?  They make a 707 or 135 look like a Super Guppy!

To me that is a biggie.  The most irritating thing to me about the old flyer was their changing the aspect ratio of the pictures to fit a needed space.  No!  retain the same aspect as the original. I do not mind the white space at top and bottom, or sides.  But making an 1-16 look like an ME109 is ridiculous!  Lock the aspect ratio!

Their descriptions have always been vague.  Almost every description starts with "Kit has engraved (or raised) panel lines,"  as if that's the most important thing anyone wants to know.  I hope the new catalog is better in this regard.

Got mine a couple days ago. One build up article on the cover kit, the Encore Blue Max Pfalz in 1/32 and  one page with an excerpt from their first catalog, The description of the new Meng M3A3 Bradley has some very bad typos. Kit descriptions indicate that models have exterior detailing and rear decks (kind of like saying tires, engine and transmission are included when you buy a car) or are heavy on history but light on kit details.

Squadron flyer?
Posted by Don Stauffer on Sunday, April 6, 2014 11:24 AM

Has anyone seen the April Squadron flyer? It was supposed to start up again for April.  I even paid for a subscription!  It had better come soon, since those specials are usually only good for the calender month.  They used to always come by the first or second of the month.
