Bench update and a look at my stash

The drawer sysem has some coasters too (not locking either) but I chose to leave them off. Glueing hose wooden profiles in place isn't hard at all: simply put 2 paint bottles in the drawer and glue the profile in place leaving a bit more space than the botles need, once you got the wood in place, remove the bottles again so you don't glue them down too in ase some glue spills. Just repeat that as many times as you want too. You have to watch out for the screws on the side of the drawers BTW. Leave a few mm more space at the far right and far left paint rail so the screw heads don't interfere with your paint bottles.

I think that weight makes it worth the price alone. My plastic drawer unit is so light and flimsy, it rolls on it's coasters when I open a drawer. (and no, no locking coasters) I get by, though.

Add me to the list of plagerisers. after seeing what you've done, I should be able to add some internal drawer organization/anti-sliding about devices.

Oh, that piece of furniture is one heavy sucker! It weights in at 32 kg (something around 64 pounds), so I think there's no way of getting it to fall over....

Yep, already checked out "Alex" at Ikea.

Is it heavy enough so unit doesn't tip if a heavily loaded drawer is opened? The plastic units aren't so good in that respect, though they work ok.

Still wanna see the bench anyway. If nothing else, to see what a clean worktop looks like. I've long since forgotten.

My bench ain't that special, mate. It's just a rather big desk in front of the window of my man-cave (for better lighting)... That won't keep me from posting a pic or 2 though

The S.A.9 isn't really on my wishlist, but the Dicker Max definitely is!

Just kidding, mate. Looks great! Love the drawer unit and organization. I do a similar thing, but the more shallow drawers you have would work a lot better than the my deeper drawers ( one of those plastic roller drawer units from a hardware superstore).

I I had a stash close to yours, I think my significant other would disown me. Great stash!

    You are missing two ! The S.A.9 " Gaskin Mobile missile launcher ) and the German - Russian offensive 9 German " Dicker Max " self propelled gun) .

I was in a similar situation when I saw it at my LHS. Only difference is I was unable to resist. The parts look great in the box. A lot of details and no flash at all. The fact someone was building one of those kits right next to me while I was trying not to immediately buy it didn't help much either...

That is a nice clean set of drawers you've got! I'm going to steal your idea of how to organise paints in the drawer too. I have been trying to think of a way of organising my paints, and this looks like the best option.

PS: that stash is something to behold - what are your thoughts on the Meng M2A3?? I've heard great things about it, had it in my hands at the LHS today, but sense prevailed and it wasn't added to my stash :( It's on the list though ;)

Phil: My hobby shop has a whole lot more boxes than I have, they just don't have that much aircraft kits in stock although they can order them on requst within 2 weeks.

There's more boxes on your shelf than I've seen in some hobby shops.
