Great find! I"ll have to see if AC Moore's or Michael's has 'em. I won't shop at Hobby Lobby.

Greg, you're quite welcome.

PJ, the majority of the silver types were faceted, but then I saw these. I am gonna check Michaels and Joanna's Fabrics for similar items down the road here.

Greg, they certainly will work for some 1/48 aircraft landing lights, perhaps some 1/32 ones as well. They look a bit too small for most 1/35 vehicle headlights, but just might. Thankfully there are many more sizes there. I just picked up the smallest ones that I could find there first.

Thanks for the info, Stik!

Stik

You found them smooth faced? Nothing here where I live, only multi cut ones.

I even asked the clerk at HL yesterday and she even checked with the dept. mgr. and no soap! Those would be great cause of the price compared to MV lenses which are pricey if found.

Don, MV Lenses are beautiful little lenses in various colors that originally started out as a railroad accessory for model trains and their various marker lights. They come in assorted sizes as well. Another AM product to spiff up your builds.

That's a great tip, Stik. Thanks.

Question: You figure the size you posted would work for what scale(s)?

Recently during a trip to a Model Train LHS I was told by a worker there that MV Lenses were no longer in production. Being a local company here, and how hard they have been to find at the various shops, I am putting pretty good credibility in his statement. The guy also said that he found a good alternative at a local fabric/sewing store, but he could not recall teh name of the product. Yesterday during a trip to Hobby Lobby I decided to have alook away from the model area and found these things in the craft area

They come in various sizes, and for $2.99 I have enough to take care of lots of landing lights. Just choose carefull as some of these things have faceted tops, as opposed to smooth, like actual gemstones and would not work too well for light lenses. Especially in larger sizes.
