Do you want a renter? I'm available.

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

As stupid as it may sound organizing the kits was one of the more enjoyable parts of the room renovation. My Mo-Jo is coming back  and I will post my latest build when done. Then you guys can decide.

Thanks for the  compliment.

Very beautiful man-cave you got there ! I'm almost jealous ...

Like someone else said, now you have no excuses for doing bad modeling !

And by the way your stash seems pretty well organized

The metal stock, Testors  paint and racks for both were purchased at a local donation center during the room renovation. I got back into the hobby about one or more yrs. ago.  I have been on  a buying spree since then adding to the old stash , buying models  in bulk whenever the opportunity arises. So I can see why it might look like I took down a hobby shop.

Thanks for the compliment.

Really nice shop my question,  the paint, brass stock and models have  you acquired over time or did you by out a store that was going out of business.

A man with an experience is never at the mercy of a man with an argument.

I don't know about that, but thanks for the compliment. I'm really enjoying it.

Thanks guys for the kind remarks.

Raualduke : Will have to see how long it stays that way.

fox: The cabinets are a combo of recycled  and Ikea purchased. By the way Ikea is a model builders best friend. I recommend checking out their discount bargain section the cabinets were $10 each.  as were the counter tops.

I had sometime to ponder components for the spray booth , currently contemplating the idea of using this air pump from a kids moon bounce  for fume extraction.  Because of it's perf. capability I'm thinking of using a variable speed controller like the one for the paint mixer. So far I have fitted an adapter. The  restrictive horizontal slates will also be removed.

It seems that everything fits in its own place very nicely. If I'm not being too nosey, did you build all the cabinetry yourself or was it pre-built? Outstanding work whichever way it was! Toast

Where's the dentist chair or the patient examination table? LOL! Nice set up though...

That's what I was thinking! But man is that a cool setup, actually got me wondering if my wife would let me work over a portion of our garage to build something that nice. I have a feeling I'm going to be stuck in the upstairs bonus room...and like it! LOL

On the Bench:  Lots of unfinished projects!  Smile

WOW! Just fantastic. The only problem is that you just eliminated some great excuses for doing bad modeling! We expect perfection commensurate with your work space from you now! :-) Actually, that's great. Well done. Happy modeling.

Finally! My W.I.P is almost complete.
Posted by RX7850 on Sunday, November 2, 2014 9:33 PM

My W.I.P - Workshop In Progress is 90% complete so I thought I would share .  Still on the punch list : install and paint some minor trim, install door with lock, install 3 surge protected outlet strips on the L- shaped bench and build a spray booth. The room is roughly 13 x 14 so my goals were efficiency where possible and comfort. I feel I have achieved my goal however there is always room for improvement.   If you have pics. or comments regarding yours I would like to hear them, especially  how you have yours set up for work efficiency. Enjoy! RX7850.

This is the work bench I was going to delve back into modelling with.  Very similar to what I had  some 18 yrs. ago

Then I figured why stop there. Build the room I always wanted. Some initial construction pics.

I During construction I got a great deal on these. K&S metals and Testors paints with racks.

Fast forward a bit.  Sheet rock, paint, laminate floor ,electrical , with the lighting I went with L.E.D s took awhile to get used to,  but I like them now. Cabinets and counters installed.

Built a custom mobile work bench

Small parts storage solution I came up with.

Pulls out

Paint shaker. I had posted about this previously and came up with a  new improved design that  uses spring shocks. Works very well.

Slides in and out

Paint storage . Both slide in and out.

Computer and audio system with powered sub woofer.

Air compressor  storage with gauges. Will be building a custom spray booth that will sit on top of the counter.

What the shop pretty much looks like at 90% completion.
