Hi Lee,   I can't help you with the kit but if you go to the Armor section I'm sure someone there can help you.

Good luck.

I keep hitting "escape", but I'm still here.

Bought it and started it.  My example has a ton of flash on the main gun, as well as quite a bit on the rest of the main parts.  One piece vinyl tracks, bottom hull is 3 pieces. Not a great deal of fine detail in my mind, but the price point for that is not there in this kit.   Have put it aside for now to work on other kits.  Personally was not super pleased with it so far--shrug---

I have pleasant memories of this kit from childhood. I particularly remember the driver figure with the plastic spring on his bottom, so he disappeared down the hatch when the hatch cover swung closed. Not quite as spectacular as the screaming zombie who came out of the turret of he Renwal Patton, but more realistic.

Like so many Monogram products of that era, it may not come up to modern standards, but in its day it represented the state of the art.

Youth, talent, hard work, and enthusiasm are no match for old age and treachery.

Yup - an old Monogram kit I did back in the 70s. Did a diorama of it too!

I bought the exact same kit at Michael's using a 40% off coupon and was building it for the Orphaned Armor GB. It originates from Monogram circa 1956. I first had one built by my dad in the late 60s-early 70s and built another one in the 1980s after becoming an M48A5 tanker.

The kit is nearly 60 years old, but until recently was the top M48A2 kit because it was the only one of that variant. Revell recently produced two all new tool M48A2 and M48A2GA2. I am converting my old Revell one into the GA2 so everyone can thank me for starting the conversion.

Lots of crude, molded on detail like the grunt rails and pioneer tools, over sized hinges to allow opening hatches. A decent kit, but not up to modern expectations.

Ahhh, the first model I ever built. FOND memories! It sat on my dresser for years! A true icon in the genre, seriously.

Not up to modern standards, like everybody says, but a fun build and a decent looking model when it's finished. Gotta love the "Love Bug" 60-ish markings!
