Acrylic gloss varnish

I have seen a lot of modelling videos where the use of Future pledge floor shine has been advised for a gloss coat and protection of paint. This however, is an American product and is not available anywhere in India.
I have searched for most super marts and malls for floor shines in India but they are all bluish and poisonous products.
What are my options to achieve a gloss shine on my model?
I have tried my car dashboard polish and it does help to some extent by continuous buffing but that's a very painstaking task.
Can I use thinned transparent nail polish gloss?
Please suggest something

Don't give up on finding Future or one of its brand variants.  It's not sold exclusively here in the US, but in other countries as well.  I always reference Matt Swan's blog and the page he devoted to info on Future, in situations like this:

Even if no variant is sold in India, you might be able to get it from one of the countries not too far away where it is sold (eg, Australia or New Zeeland--yes, not across the street, but not on the other side of the globe, either).

Scapilot, I'd be most interested in seeing your video should you decide to produce one. My clear coating technique needs work regardless of which product I am spraying.

I'm a bit surprised you are making this work with a fine-tip nozzle. I have 4 needle/nozzle sizes available ranging from .2mm to .5mm, I've tried them all.

I personally am not terribly interested in pursuing the use of 'Future' for clear gloss coats, but if I see your video I"ll have to give your techniques a try.

Please do a video.  Airbrushing is my weakest technique and I would love to see in detail how it's properly done.  I've been waisting too much paint in  redoing, redoing, redoing until my model  is finaly done the way I think it should be.

Greg, I use a grex tritium and Genesis to spray through, and they're fine tip nozzles. I think one of the biggest hang ups folks have is that they either try to spray from too far away, resulting in Orange peeling from the spray drying partially before contacting the surface, or runs from trying to spray too much too close. I'm thinking a out doing a video for upload on my YouTube channel to help some folks with it. I used to have future too, because it seemed like it took forever to be able to build it up and it would be glossy in some areas, and just miserable in others. Ever since I've found the niche, it's been an excellent product. I'd definitely be willing to help further to get you there.

Greg, what was the issue with future? I used to be turned off about it too, because I didn't like the warnings of needing to let it sit for 24 hours after each application. But I went rogue one day and decided I was going to go against the grain, and add a lot of small coats in a little bit of time, and use the assistance of a hair dryer to help me along. These days, I can have a full on wet look on a 32nd scale plane in an hour, and start adding washes directly thereafter with zero negative effect.

As I said, I could never get it spray satisfactorily. I just mentioned the other day in another thread that there seem to be folks who can spray 'Future' with no issues, I just don't seem to be one of them. Perhaps if I had an airbrush with a proper nozzle tip for a broad fan pattern coverage, but I don't.

I agree with you about it setting up faster than advertised.

Can't you just order something like Model Master acrylic gloss through the internet? I find it hard to believe that anyone in any country can't get just about anything they want these days?

There are acrylic glosses too in hardware/paint store lines, both in spray cans and regular cans.  You get a lot more paint for the money than in hobby paints.  You may have to thin them a bit more (for the regular brush types) but the spray can stuff can be used as is. Craft stores such as Michaels also carry both matt and gloss acrylic sprays.

Future is an acrylic gloss, so I assume you are looking for an acrylic clear gloss.

Vallejo makes a decent acrylic gloss clear varnish. So does Alclad, it's called Aqua Gloss Clear. Those are the two acrylic gloss products I use and the ones that come to mind.

If your clear coat doesn't need to be acrylic, there are even more choices.

Keep in mind, you are not trying to 'polish' on a shine, you want a coat of clear gloss. Just like applying paint, but clear and shiny.

I gave up chasing "Future" a couple years ago, and I never figured out how to spray it satisfactorily.
