1:35 military model
Posted by brownsfan1092 on Saturday, April 18, 2015 6:27 PM

So I was wondering how many other people like to build military models, whether it be old or modern?

Plus I've been wondering where you all buy them?

I myself like modern models. I've gotten a few kits off of ebay but I'm not sure where else to find them.

I like 1:35 scale late WWII/Korean War era tanks.  I've had good luck finding kits at reasonable prices from Scalehobbyist.com: www.scalehobbyist.com/index.php

Are you talking about tanks, artillery and stuff, or military aircraft?

I mainly am after building and collecting the 1:35 US Army ground vehicles. I have a few hmmwvs and a lmtv and lmtvt. I like modern military vehicles though. I am in the FSC of a field artillery unit and would love to get my hands on a kit for a M109A6.

Trumpeter and AFV Club are good choices for companies.

Don't underestimate Amazon. I find that because their shipping is pretty reasonable compared to a lot of eBay sellers, they have decent prices.

The model here is really top-of-the-line.

Or this:

Or this:

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.

I tend to find Amazon has a lot of the older Revell models and hit and miss on the newer releases from most manufactures. I also purchase most of mine from scalehobbiest because of price and fair shipping charges.

There is the M109A6 there and it's only $38. Cheapest I've seen it by far. Definitely debating on it. I've had a lot of trouble finding the M1120 HEMTT. Idk if the box art I saw on a page was real or not, but I cannot seem to find it anywhere.

Towerhobbies' prices are high.  Buy from scalehobbyist.com, the best online hobby shop in my experience.
