Is the perfect plastic putty the water based stuff?

I tried some but did not have great results but that's probably because of unfamiliarty with the product.

Thanks everyone!!! I used some "perfect plastic putty" the other day for filling a gap, and I LOVE that stuff. 48658685894594 x better than regular old squadron green putty. Thanks Again!

I have both "Perfect Plastic Putty" & Mr Surfacer 500

A Chris-K says, the PPP is my soup-de-jour, & now only use MS500 to add texture to armour & some hairline cracks.

Google YouTube for "Perfect Plastic Putty" for tutorials

Check out Sprue Brothers' web site, they usually have those  products available.

 Thank You!!

You can get the 500 on eBay.  Personally, I much prefer "Perfect Plastic Putty" to Mr Surfacer 500.

Try Hobby Lobby. With a 40% coupon, it can't be  beat.

I think it might be a manufacturer thing. Just the other day I was going to order some from Scale Hobbyist and their site says that it has been discontinued.

Availability of Mr. Surfacer 500
Posted by RudyOnWheels on Friday, April 24, 2015 2:03 PM

Has anyone else had issues getting Mr. Surfacer from their LHS? I always try to support the LHS, even though it is always more expensive. I was looking for Mr. Surfacer 500 since Xmas, they never had any. A few weeks ago I asked them "what gives"? And they ordered some for me.When it came, I peeked in the bag, paid, and went home.... I took it out of the bag, and it was Mr.Surfacer 1000. (much thinner) I already had a bottle fo 1000, and 1200. The LHS said the 500 "is backordered", and cannot give me a time when it will be available.... Anybody know what is going on the the Mr. Surfacer 500?

Thanks!
