Would be good to see a World War II American submarine on the GB Badges.....afterall, the Silent Service did much to win the war in the Pacific after the battleships were destroyed at Pearl Harbor.  But of course, I'm biased: my grandfather was an American submariner during WWII.......just saying......

2022 New Year's Resolution:  Enter 1 group build and COMPLETE a build this year!!  Why Photobucket did you rob me of my one Group Build Badge???  Must be part of the strong anti-Monogram cartel!!!

Mom's parents might claim it (German/Austrian) but Dad's wouldn't (English/Welsh)

Thought the tower looked like a U-Boat with the wrap around on the front, and not enough around the 'scope shears.

Great badges. Now i just have to choose which of the 2 last ones i will use. I will be sticking with the 125th Revell Type VII and get some practice painting and weathering a Sub.

I think I build that one years ago. I had to save to get it I was so broke at the time. Nice kit if I remember.

Ye, i have built it before, but that one didn't survive. So as well as being a practice piece before i get to grips with the 72nd kits, it will be nice to have this again, if for no other reason than its the U-99.

Nice badges......Thought about changing my proposed 1/144 build to the 1/72 Gato, but will stay with Wahoo in the surface gunfight on 27 January 1943.

Will do the 1/72 after, and may fit in if time in the GB.  Straycat sold me one out of his stash.  THANKS!!!!  Yah, she is a monster at 4'4".  Probably going to have to use the booth at work (body shop) to paint her.  Only thing I need for her are the alum. 'scopes that turn up every once in awhile, and a raft of 20mm's from Nautilis.

Oh boy do I have a surprise for you guys. Cody J has completed the badges for the build, and as usual there will be a few to choose from.
I will be writing an official GB post with rules and possible co-host on July 1st to get ready for Aug 1st.
Here they are, enjoy.

The text on #1 may change.

Steve,

You can count me in for at least the Trumpeter 1/144 Gato and hopefully the 1/72 Revell Gato. Heck, if I get really insane I might build the Trumpeter 1/350 USS England for the hunter part. Although it was completed a couple of years ago, here's a Revell 1/72 VIIC I built.

Yep, it would be for anything sub related from the civil war to modern including sub hunting helos.

It won't start until late next year.  Probably August or September.

i have a couple of resin HUNLEYs in the stash, OTS and 1/32 w/ interior.

That is the same Trumpy Gato I wanted to buy. The guy had 2 of them for $20 each and $8 shipping. One heck of a price! I went to the dinner table and hurried back to click on the "buy it now" button but it was gone!!!Crying :doh:

Steve and Hockey Just found out the 1/72 Gato will be re issued thru ROG and Freetime Hobbies is taking pre orders listing it at $99. This is a beautiful kit but a bit large so I will stay at 1/144.

Boy did I screw up. I found a new 1/144 Gato for $20 on eBay, hesatated to think about it, and wam!, Gone in 5 minutes. Dog gone it!!!! Snooz you lose. I was going with the whole "good things come to those who wait" theroy this time.
Oh well, that's not the only deal out there.
