Subscribing vs. Buying

I never had a problem with damged magazines. If this seems to be a continuous problem I would notitify your postal carrier and log a complaint.

My route is the next town over from where I live. Been at it for 20 years. Still a rookie

Hey hey what is all this mailman bashing. I happen to resemble one of them govment employees. You'd all be surprised at the condition we get magazines and catalogs at our desk in the morning. Most of it is sorted by machines so the mangled envelope you got think about what a loose page would do on the fast sorting machine. Onto another story. Middle of last week I was delivering a street not on my route for overtime. In a mailbox was a Christmas card envelope that said return to sender. I looked at the name on the envelope and recognized it as someone who lives on my route. The next day I knocked on my customers door asking if he had ever lived on the other street. He said yes but I moved in 1973. I gave him his Christmas card 43 years after he had moved from that house. Obviously not someone they keep in touch with

I've never had an issue with damage to one of my FSM's. Now that I say that this month will probably look like the mail man got hungry;)

I've never had any damaged copies delivered, however, I have been getting the copies with the address label missing.  It seems that the only reason I get it is that I'm the only one on his route who gets a copy and he's used to seeing it and delivering it to me.  If he ever changes routes I guess I won't be getting my copy.

The tearing of mag covers is one little pet peeve of mine. Bbut the biggest one is my mail getting wet because the mailman don't close the darn box lid when it's raining.

I prefer paper magazines as I do not need electricity to read them.

Oddly, the magazines tend to be the only items that get mangled.

Generally the damage took the form of multiple torn pages; looked kinda like somebody doing the "tear the phone book in half " trick.

Only other damaged mail I have received took the form of an occasional envelope arriving in a bag due to a loose corner snagging in one of the fast sorting machines. That I understand.

 

I've rarely ever had a problem with damaged magazines. Is your mailbox smallish? Perhaps the postal carrier has to jam them in with force? I prefer paper copy so I can travel with them to read.

I used to receive magazine subscriptions in the post but the local post office mangles the magazines. As I know the publications arrive safely bundled and wrapped in plastic on pallets at my local post office, I asked the post office why the magazines are somehow severely mangled.

Response received was the equivilant of : "Tough beans , kid. Too bad." 

Guess the condition as it arrives in my box is good enough for government work.

I stopped requesting paper subscriptions and went to on-line downloads.
