Photobucket Problems?
Posted by ajd3530 on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 1:26 PM

It's is roughly 2:30 PM EST and I haven't been able to upload or even view anything on my photobucket all day. I was just curious if anyone else was having this problem, or if it is just something isolated going on with my account.

Many thanks.

Working ok for me off my laptop. Of course I can't get it to work right with my phone since they changed it two years ago... Personally I really think very poorly of its current set up and willprobably open another account somewhere else. But I have litterally thousands of photos on there already.

Oh man I so feel this exactly!!! When I first came back after a recent hiatus (as you are well aware Stik, lol) I found that no matter what link from Photobucket I used that it would always open the image on their full web page with ads and everything instead of just opening the image. Apparently with their remake, this design was intentional. I guess they really want that ad money. So now when you use a direct link, the first time it is clicked it will append .html to the end of the image link and take you to a full Photobucket page with the image and all of the ads. If you close that window and reopen it, it will open a new tab with just the image. Absolutely drives me bananas.

I have opened an account at Image Shack which I like much better but it does not have a free account option that I am aware of. I will probably leave all my current images on Photobucket and go with them. Only thing that sucks is that it doesn't fix the problem when I am browsing other peoples images that are hosted on PB. PB does have an ad free option of the site for 99 cents but I am unsure if this will make direct links actually act as direct links or if it just takes the ads off of the site when you are on it logged in.

Woops, sorry for that rant.

I always have had problems uploading pics at the bucket. Many times it is so slow, I have to refresh 5 or 6 times and still no upload, and eventually it loads and I have 2 of the same pic loaded. Oh well. Indifferent

Well it finally had something pop up and say that mobile photo bucket is under maitence, so I can live with that. I was afraid something in my personal account was jacked up.

Just got that too. Been tryin to upload pics (from phone, using the app) since last night. I did manage to get about 5 through....but then there was 3-7 of each of those, so I had to delete a bunch...which was turboslow!

Typically, I don't have much problem with it. There's some annoying things here and there, but hey...ya can't beat the price! So, I don't complain.

With you 100%. I do think the mobile app is slow and not very well laid out. And all the ads are annoying, but on the flip side, I think we get what we pay for and then some.

I've had trouble with photobucket for the last couple of years.  Most of the time I can't get it to move a pic from there to the Forum.  Sometimes, when I try, it transfers more than 1 copy of the pic.  Several times I got between 70 and 80 copies of each pic I have (100's).  Takes a while to delete all these pics.  That's why I haven't posted any pics lately.  Would like to post pics of my builds for those on the Forum to see.  Been checking out other sites for a replacement.  I'm an old fart that's also very computer illiterate so it takes a while for all this new fangled stuff to sink in to what's left of my brain.

I tried to load a pic using direct link at the bucket, but the option was MIA. I ended up using our link tag with the html code.

Sometimes when I try to post a picture to a forum, the box drops down and then a grey spot with a verticle rectangle in it appears and it won't let me click on anything about posting the picture.  I have to close out that bucket and try again.  If that doesn't happen, the site will just stop and I have to do it all over again.   I don't know what that thing is or where it comes from, but it is a problem.

I gave up on PB 2 years ago when I could not access my account cause of some problem with the site. After having my computer yearly checkup, the tech told me I had over 500 adware files in my computer. He said that PB is notorious for slipping those adware files.

I then switched to ImageShack for $14 a year. I have unlimited use and storage with no pop ups and problems and uploads faster than PB. I recently had my computer checked and after 2 years only had 2 adware files installed so I'm pretty confident that PB was loading up my PC with junk files.

Ernie, was that with the free PB or a premium account?

I had issues yesterday, but believe it was my net connection rather than PB, as FSM forum was ridiculously slow also.  Both PB and FSM are fine today.  Maybe someone dug up/severed a cable somewhere, or server problems at my ISP.

I have been having issues for the pst week.  Finally got 4 out of 5 pictures uploaded yesterday.  Still cannot find out why the 5th picture won't upload.  The ads are getting worse and so is the spam in my email account.  Maybe time to look for a different host and upgrading an account since I have ramped up my participation here.

Fermis

if you go to the home page I think there's a Contact link.

When I was using them a very nice lady named Sara contacted me about a day or two later and resolved the issue.

I can look in a bit when I get home for the link if you can't find it.

Im using a different hoster. The files are clickable for a larger image, but the images are basically the same size on the redirect.
