I, I want to know if you need to use Tamyia XF-86 flat clear decanted for airbrush or straight from bottle? I normaly use Tamyia TS flat clear can but I want to apply it with my airbrush and I don't find any information about how use the XF-86 with airbrush. Thanks
You should thin it, the same as you would any color of Tamiya paint.
So I'm curious, Karl. I have used Tamiya thinner, but at $ 3.50 a jar it adds up. I've also used alcohol (oh shut up!) as a thinner for Tamiya, with "ok" results. Will that work, or have you tried, with clear flat?

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.
Bill, I haven't used the XF-86 flat clear, but there's no particular reason why alcohol wouldn't work with it.
If you want to use the original Tamiya X-20A thinner, it's far more economical buying it in the 250ml jugs (around $8.00 from somewhere like Sprue Bros) than the individual bottles.
