Tamiya Customer Service
Posted by Johnny1000 on Monday, September 19, 2016 2:24 PM

I stupidly damaged a part for a Tamiya model I'm working on in a way that would be beyond my ability to convincingly repair at this stage in my modleling development (and learned an important lesson about CA and masking tape, so that's a plus).

I reached out to TamiyaUSA on their web site for a spare, understanding that I'd have to buy the whole sprue. 15 minutes later a rep emails back asking what part number I'm looking for. I thought that was an odd question, since their policy clearly states that they will not sell individual parts, but found the part number and emailed back. 10 minutes later I get an email saying that they have the part available from a canibalized kit and they'll send it out at no cost.

The part arrived a week later and I'm back in business. So above and beyond. Their stuff might seem a bit spendy, but really, you get what you pay for.

I've had great experiences with Tamiya CS. Takes a little bit to get the part and all but they send 'em if you need 'em. BTW we all break parts and goof up so it's not a "stupid" thing there bubba. Get over it and model on .....Yes

Have to respect companies that still care in this day and age as not many others seem to. Good on ya Tamiya!

It is good to see this kind of support from the manufacturers.  Back in the days of dime store kits, who cared if they could supply a part, but now, when we are spending a few Jackson's or even a couple of Franklins on a kit, they need to be able to support a missing or broken part.
