Holy crap!! How many Phantoms did you build this year? Are they all 1/48? What did you use for all the ordinance? They all look really nice with a good amount of weathering. High quality work on all the paint and masking on each build!!

That's one hell of an air force, even with the missing ones. I just got the Tamiya F-4 and will have to reference your builds if I get to it. Outstanding.

Thanks gents for the nice comments.

Tojo

The Tomcat is 1/48 Hasegawa with aftermarket decals for 'Wichita' 103 during the Gulf War. It's a very nice kit but a bit fiddly specially the intakes and joining the front fuselage part to the rear one.

I believe by this time the missiles were grey but it was a commission and he wanted them in white.

Thanks Jonathan. LOL I guess you can tell I like the Phantom? Wink The weathering is a combination of marbling/blackbasing, artist oils for streaks and Flory Washes.

The Sundownner is 1/48 Academy and was a joy to build. The decals were awesome (over 300 between stencils and markings). Detail and fit AAA+++.

Showtime 100 was 1/48 Hasegawa with a Hasegawa weapons and kit decals. Not a bad kit.

The Death Angels and Jolly Roger Js are old 1/48 Monograms with aftermarket decals. Weapons are a mix of Academy and Hasegawa. These are very old molds but they do build up to very good F-4's. The FOD covers were scratched out from those junk plastic cards we get in the mail. They were the right thickness and as an added bonus were free.

Templar

I have seen built Tamiya F-4s and they are simply awesome but huge at 1/32.

PJ,

Fantastic job on all these builds! But, I really like the 14 best! I remember your WIP of this kit, and the helicopter kill marker. That was a great addition!

Max, gh and  Bruce, thanks for your comments. The F-4 is a very cool looking and deadly aircraft. Yes Wichita 103 shot down an Iraqui helo and has the kill mark on the side.

I remember watching all of those except for the 16. Great work PJ, I love your weathering.

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.
