You're the reason I finally pulled the trigger on buying it!

Thanks,

Nice scores guys!

My new scores came in yesterday in no particular order. First up is the new Tamiya A-34 Comet. I had placed a pre order with Brookhurst Hobbies a couple months ago for this kit then heard nothing and started to wonder. Then I found out that they had gotten the kits in and not contacted me regarding my pre order, so I contacted them and got the problem straightened out. I am quite happy to have gotten the screw up corrected and the kit sent to me at the pre order price.

Then I found this decal set for Korean War AD Skyraider. It has markings for an AD-3 from VA-35, USS Leyte Air Wing in Korea 1950/1951. After seeing Devotion and reading about the USN strikes at the Yalu River bridges, it was a natural inspiration to get this set.

Over the last several months I bought many many new kits, mostly 1/35 armor and 1/48 aircraft. These would fill the pages and bore you. I'm removing kits that are being replaced or just getting rid of ones I know I'll never build. Time for a stash cleaning/replacing. Actually, although I purchased several new ones, they're replacing possably double that what I'm losing.

I will however, show three that I received this month.

For my birthday, my gal bought me this. She got it for a gag but I told her that I actually liked it.

Next for Christmas she got me this one. Again, very happy to receive it

and for my secret Santa gift I got this. I love between the war A/C

Steve

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

Those are great kits, Steve. She has a good eye. That Mando kit is great. You'll love working on it.

Had to go to the town where I grew up a couple days ago to knock out a couple of stones - visit some family and my dentist, who coincidentally is family as well.  Left my office in Houston and drove an hour south, got there too early so I stopped at a Hobby Lobby.  I don't get back to my home town often, but am always amazed at the shopping options that have sprung up there in the years since I left for Texas A&M in the mid-80s.  In any event, I walked out of the HL with a couple of purchases, a Vallejo paint set for US Army Air Corps China-Burma-India colors, as well as this kit

I'm 99% certain I never built this kit as a youngster.  The F-84 was always my favorite as a Thunderbird jet.  I'll likely build this one alongside my Hobby Boss release some day.

Aggie, that Thunderstreak Thunderbird a new release of an older mold kit, so there is no way you ever built it before. But I'm with you on wanting to build one soon Wink

I'm looking at the Dragon Wing as well. But what are the shipping costs? I'm in the UK, I presume it's a small packet? It's  very difficult to work out shipping!

I've just checked and it's the same price as the kit so I cancelled the order!

Those are awesome guys!!!

SP: I hope the Tamiya Comet is easier to build than the Bronco kit. I liked how mine came out but it was a bit of bear to build.

Pat: The shipping costs for my Dragon Wing were about $60 US- I think that's about 40 UK (my keyboard doesn't have a pound key). That's for the whole order though. The Pagani was about $30 on HLJ but normally sells in the US for about $70. So I make up an order about once or twice a year and I think I end up saving enough on costs to make up for shipping.

Wow, Ben. That is a significant haul. Love those 1/18 diecast, I have several. I used to be a dealer for Ertl and Autoart as well as Supercar Collectibles when diecast was all the rage. I love that big Sherman and I would love to get one along with the Tiger I. Looking forward to seeing those.

Ben, great additions to your stash and awesome collectibles too.  You have a large area of interests, same as me!  I've been "drooling" over that 1/16 Sherman for months now!  That and the 1/16 M5A1 Stuart are definitely on my wish list.  Hope that these new kits bring many hours of enjoyment for Jarrod & you.

Over the past few months I've been adding to my stash, mostly the auto side, but a few AC and armor as well.

Finally pulled the trigger on the stock Bronco.

And a 68 Charger and 68 Roadrunner

Had to add the 70 AAR Cuda to go with my T/A Challanger

I thought this would go good in a big dio

And finally, I've been wanting a Swordfish for a long time now and pulled the trigger

These will all be built, not this year...

Here are my first acquisitions of the new year and one from last year.

Bought the WNW Fokker E. II back in November from Andy’s Hobby Headquarters and it showed up I think on December 30. I am not the biggest fan of aircraft models but I wanted at least one WNW kit to build and I figure unless someone else buys the molds and starts making kits I’m not going to find this Fokker E. II for less than $200USD.

Couple purchases off eBay the Max Immelman figures price was too good to pass up. The Fiat 3000 tracks I needed for the Tauro Fiat 3000 I’ll be starting soon for the Between Wars GB on the forums. The tracks included with the Tauro kit are one link too short on each run. The aftermarket tracks are resin and this will be my first time working with resin tracks and I’m nervous about it.

I bought this Miniart kit last week at the nearest hobby shop to me. It’s a Mercedes- Benz 170V. I’ve been wanting to build a civilian car model lately but I wanted to keep the majority of my collection 1/35 and 1/32 and the Miniart kit fit my requirements perfectly. There is a lot in the box including a very nicely detailed engine along with two figures. I am going to try to squeeze this model in my very busy build schedule for this year somehow.

DRUMS - what a haul!  That BT46B is on my wish list.  Just love those monster rear slicks.  F1 build 2023???

BK - nice selection of car models.  You will love the Bronco.  Fantastic kit.  I've got that swordfish kit in the stash as well.  Sprung for the Tamiya detail set - comes with all the strut bracing.

Nice haul GS.

Thanks,

John

John, Drums, Brandon, and Grey, you guys have picked up some great kits!

I’ve had a few new acquisitions come in since my last update.

For my 1/48 RAF & Fleet Air Arm, I picked up these both well discounted off of their list price on the evilBay

and then these two items… scrambling for replacement decals on my recent Mig-3, I realized that I needed Red Stars in my decal stash… and the Tempest PE set will dress up the old Eduard kit in my stash

For my 1/35 motor pool, I picked up these kits… last weekend at AMPS, some guys came in with partially built and unbuilt kits from a friend of theirs who had died recently.

I picked up these two very well along and very well started kits..

and this un started early Jagdpanther…

it is missing the rail flat car, but I’m not complaining. All three cost me $20!!!

A Takom 1/35 Jagdpanther for roughly $7 bucks is the bargain of the week!

Ben, nice adds. I am doing something very similar in adding detail up parts to kits more than buying more kits, but still buy more kits. Dangit!!

Stik, very nice decals. How do you like those Arii kits? I've never had one.
