Tanker - Builder

Greg ;

If my info is correct .Hornby Intl. revived Pocher . Not sure . But that's what I heard .  T.B.

You are correct, TB. It's limited and not much going on, or so it seems. I've been watching.

But still, it is oddly comforting to know that Pocher still exists out there in some form.

Thanks for commenting.

Cool idea Tojo.

What I received for Christmas.

What bought a month ago.

I bought this at a swap meet a couple weeks ago for $10. I built it back in the 70's and wanted another swing at it.

And lastly, I bought this while browising an antique store a week ago and grabbed it for $10.

My wife says my stash is getting too big. Pfft! no such thing.

Steve

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

What the hey I guess I'll jump in here. Some great stuff there guys, should be a forum of very happy modelers here!

A few Christmas presents for myself:

Same kit as Bruce's:

From the 'Dirty Santa' give exchange from our IPMS club:

Trumpeter German E-100 super heavy tank and HobbyBoss F8F Bearcat from Squadron's after Christmas sale.

And last week found HobbyBoss's P/F-80A Shooting Star on sale at our local hobby shop and couldn't resist.

Most of you that know me, have known that I only build armor. No more. I've tired of the 500 plus piece kits and have sold off my more complex kits. I just don't have the time or patience. I'm slowly integrating aircraft. I've always liked Japanese aircraft, probably because they are so asthetically pleasing. So I've added 4 aircraft kits to make 7 in the stash with one under construction. Big learning curve, but I'm up to it. I've got a mix of newer and older. I'm not going to drop big bucks if I decide this isn't for me. LOL

I'm jealous.  I need to get some IJN and IJA aircraft.  I better start with a zero.

The Otaki kits are older, but much cheaper. Pretty good detailing and decals. I have 3 other Hasegawa kits, and they are more detailed, but more expensive. I'm going to work on the Otaki kits first and hone my skills before I tackle the Hase kits

Hey Eric, miss seeing you around the forum! I think you'll enjoy those kits. As you said the Otaki kits are still great models even today, I picked up one of their P-40s a year or so ago. And Hasegawa aicraft are generally fantastic though their kits like the P-40 with the fusilage inserts for different versions can be fiddly. These don't have any inserts so they should be a fun and easy build.

New addition to my small collection of modern British armour. Trumpeters 1/35th AS-90.

Now that looks real nice!

Been wanting it for a while. Does look nice, but still going to add the Accurate Armour upgrade set.

These are awsome pieces of kit, managed to climb inside one once and seen them in action at both ends. Impressive when you are watching the impact area and seeing the results of a battery firing 3 rounds a minute.

I just got the Amusing hobbies kit of the Conquerer.  Looks pretty neat.

I have a couple of their Germans kits and they both look really nice, eyeing up to more. That Conquerer will be nice to see.

Nice Eric,Hasegawa makes some nice aircraft.

Yes they do. I'v got a Zero(in progress), Frank, Raiden, and a Jill. The canopy is intense on that Jill. I'll probably have to spring for a mask

I have been trying to get hold of that. Hannants sold out just as i was about to place an order and the ones on e-bay have silly shipping. I am hoping it will be back in soon as i plan on building it for the Midway GB.

Hi Bish,

If you can find the Hasegawa Avenger kit - I would recommend that over this Academy kit.

I built the Hasegawa kit about 10 years ago (or more).  It was a very nicely detailed kit that went together very well.  It is hard to come by though.

I think this Avenger is an older Academy kit - so the details aren't on par with Academy's more recent offerings - or the Hasegawa kit.

Chris

Thanks for the info, i will look a bit harder, but seems hard to get hold of. I think the Academy is from 87 and what i read said it was not brilliant. But if it comes to it, i will settle for the Academy, i can get a PE set for the bit so that might help a bt.
