FotoFrank - really cool eclectic trio!  What's the story behind the Wildcat?

Keavdog, after the war the Navy used Hellcats as target drones to be shot out of the sky by student pilots learning how to shoot air-to-air. Some Hellcats were also used at target-tow aircraft, pulling a sock behind them.

The drones were used a lot for testing the early AAM's, both free flight and guided. That's a situation where a piloted tow aircraft was just too risky.

This is kind of a funny story:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Palmdale

3 more to add to the list.

Starting with one of my favorite builds of the year, finally get to add the very first version of the 251 to the collection, ICM's 35th Sd.Kfz 251/1 Ausf A.

A heavily weathered AMT kit of a Trade Federation AAT.

And my first 4 engined German aircraft, Revell's 1/72nd Fw 200C-8.

Nice trio Mark.  That has to be the only Oakey's knife polish bus on the forum ;)

The shading on the Corsair wing looks great.

Thanks keavdog.

So much beautiful work displayed in this thread!  Kudos to all.

My last three builds:

Just finished the Corsair earlier this week.  Had to build it with the wings folded, due to display area limitations.

Cheers,
Mark
