Tanker - Builder

I have read this with interest ;

My mailman won't let any package or hardcover item stay in the box . He brings it to the door and lets someone know . Or , he will leave a note to pick the item up at the P.O. because it wouldn't fit in the box .

B.

Not ours. He leaves it on the deck no matter the weather or shoves it in the box nearly destroying the package.

Hi, I am Lee, I am a plastiholic.

Greg, thats why I posted this. I wanted to point out to all how it is to deal with Kalmbach if you have a problem, that kind of customer service is almost non-existant these days. Thanks guys..... Dale

The theft is maddening, but it is nice to read positive things and you are right, Kalmbach's response to you speaks volumes about who they are.

Good for them and for you for posting something positive, especially after having been wronged by another party. Yes

Some years back the same thing was going on in my hood . The other mailman constantly decries the " Group Boxes " at the end of blocks . Because of no camera coverage they get break-ins . Thank Goodness we still have private boxes on poles . T.B.

Glad you got your stuff replaced and that there is a suspect. Good for Kalmbach for helping you out on this.

Theives *** me off because they are just taking something they did not work for. I see it as stealing not only the item I bought, but the time I had to put into it to earn the money to buy it. Unless they are stealing because they are hungry or sick, which is still wrong but very understandable, there is no acceptable reason to steal.

Had one experience several years ago when I ordered an airbrush booth and it was delivered to the wrong apartment. I contacted UPS and the driver confirmed it had been left at the wrong place. No problem, I thought. I went to the neighbor and explained that the package was mine, had my name and address clearly printed on it. She refused to give it back, said it had been delivered to her so she could keep it. If I had a problem with it to take it up with UPS. I blew some smoke up her rear and told her UPS was covered under Federal mail laws and she could be facing Federal criminal charges if she did not return the package. This woman practically thew the package at me  and slammed the door.

It's good when theives don't know the law. :-)

Bernie, he just grabbed packages with no idea of what was inside.  Buddy write away, this is a good place and way to vent about something like this.  Having the tools you make your lively hood from stolen is even worse yet and like you say an easy pawn item. Plus a double wammy, loss of income for a day or more plus replacement costs ! One of the other items stolen was a book, The JackStay, I was really looking forward to reading it.     Dale

Dale,  I'm glad you'e getting a replacement for your lost dvd.

I'e mentioned before that I have more of a back ground in Collecting comics than modeling. At the moment.

But, I've seen plenty of this crap in comics.  You get jazzed up in anticipating a new arrival or some Grail you'e spent months tracking down..  And just like that.  Some loser throws a monkey wrench in the works.  I don't know what's more offensive to me... someone thieving tools. Or someone purloining hobby items.

A tool thief takes your livelhood. They take things you use to keep your family in food and shelter. Obviously most tools keep their value, are expensive to invest in and make an easy fence at the pawn shop. But the fact is they represent something more. At least to me.  I rely on my tools. And I didn't get them easily.  It took me many years. And some were my father's that he gave me.

Hobby thieves, on the other hand. (Meaning a guy who shares the same hobby. And understands the amount of work and care and research and value. He Takes your passions and happiness for profit. Jeaousy. Envy or as per comics.. to have the bigger or better hoard.  It's disgusting.

I apologize for writing a novel. But thievery, unless it's stealing so you don't die, is inexcusable. And if that guy went into your own mailbox. He's essentially reached into your house.

I wonder though, unless he models.. why take that? It's a strange thing for a non hobby person to take. Is it not?

Weird. I hope someone nabs him.

Yes there could be other options, but my mail lady remembers putting the items in question in my box and there was tracking #'s too. There is actually a suspect already. Who was seen pulling stuff from my box and he was stupid enough to come to my door and ask if I had gotten any of his mail. I work in Federal Law Enforcement, so I do have some background in finding things out.  The replacement DVD-ROM set from FSM arrived today. Have to say I am impressed with Kalmbach publishing.   Dale

Are you sure it was stolen? How can you tell it was stolen? Did you see it taken from your mailbox? It's very possible it got mailed in the wrong box. Is there a tracking number? Not to accuse you of lying but I've seen stranger stuff happen. So many different scenarios that could have happened.

I'm glad to hear you're getting a replacement copy though.

A theft and Kudos to Kalmbach publishing

I recently had a rather expensive theft of items from my mailbox. One of the items was the FSM 10 yr collection 2009-2017. For the police report I had to contact kalmbach publishing to find the true value since I had gotten it on a special deal. I was also going to re-order. The Lady I spoke too was not only very pleasant but she shipped me out a new order for free ! This really surprised me. So FSM magazine and Kalmbach publishing you "ROCK" and have my business forever.   Dale
