Dragon released a 1/72 scale Saturn V Apollo 11 in 2013, I believe. They also released a version with Skylab. I bought the Apollo 11 one but haven't built it yet. It's about 5 feet tall when built and all the stages can be separated. Not sure if it's currently available but have heard that since 2019 is the 50th anniversary of the first moon landing, Dragon will probably be re-releasing their Apollo models.
Thank you,
I did jave a great time and the sheer size of the Saturn V is breathtaking, and the apollo capsule was amazing to see. About the kit the only model they had was a flying falcon 9 but i did find some sellers on ebay.

P.s. I will send pics later when I am at my computer.

unknown scale Revell sr-71 blackbird
Max, kudos on a very cool way to display a Saturn V!
JJ, hope you had a great time at the Cape, and found a model kit.
I think AMT released a separate kit of their Saturn V in 1/200, it was originally part of their Man In Space collection. Also Airfix did one in 1/144. And for something a bit different check out the Lego Saturn V!

Just got the latest Squadron catalog and they have a Revell Saturn 5 in 1/144.

I keep hitting "escape", but I'm still here.
Thank you everyone for the ideas, I am headed to Cape Canaveral right now and will go to kennedy tommorow.
Yes! Yes they are!
(Taken at the Huntsville Space and Rocket Center back in 1972 when you could actually walk up to the Saturn V)

GAF Looks like a nice build! Is that an astronaut figure in the lower left F1 engine? Gary

Yep, it needed a scale comparision to show what a whopper that thing is! I stood by one of those nozzles in the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum and was quite impressed!

Here's the Revell kit I built many years ago. I did see the one at the Cape outdoors. 55 inches long in this configuration.

The Saturn V at Houston is in a building now. Took a VIP tour there in 2013 so I got to go into the mission control building. Also, there's one at Huntsville. 3 left, which would have been Apollo 18, 19 and 20.
BTW JJ, if you're intrested, check out GAF's "The Race Into Space Group Build". It starts Oct 4th

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

It's been 20 years since I was at Kenedy so they may have closed it. I bought a nice NASA coffee cup and picture of the shuttle at lift off. I also don't recall a entry fee but there may have been, I wouldn't have cared. There's also a Saturn V at Johnson SC, but again I haven't been there in 17 years. I guess they built a building over it since.
I may have missed it, I don't see how, but I didn't see one in any of hte gift shops they had.
If you saw the movie Armmageddon, you will et a idea of how big that rocket really is. They filmed a scene with two people having a picnic in one of the nozzels of the Saturn V that is on display in the building.
You may be able to find one at the gift shop.
Revell has a Kit, as does Estes (which is a flyable model rocket, you may have to look online to find it...) but, Lego also has a phenomenal Saturn V set...it even has 1969 pieces....

Mortal as I am,I know that I am born for a day. But when I follow at my pleasure the serried multitude of the stars in their circular course, my feet no longer touch the Earth...
If you can, find a recent Airfix Skylab kit (you get parts for a regular Sat V and the Skylab fairing). They've fixed the problem with the S-IVb stage and you will get more accurate decals. There is some ribbing on the second stage that will have to be removed, but overall, it's the better of the two (the other being the Revell).
Buddy- Those who say there are no stupid questions have never worked in customer service.
I saw one on the shelf at my local hobby shop recently. Don't remember for sure, but I think it was an old Revell kit- also do not remember size. I only remember that I was surprised to see it since their stock of US Revell kits is pretty sparse. So they are still out there, but rare.
Try eBay.

Monogram or Revell put one out a few times.
When you get there the Saturn V is sitting horizontally on pedistals. Near the tip is a model to its right of a Saturn on the crawler with its scaffolding in a display case. About midway on the left you will see what looks like a large vault door. when you go in you will see the Apollo 13 capsul and severa displays, includign some early space suits prototypes. The metal ones look like they could be used in a 1950s S.F. movie.
Don't forget to see the Atlantis. She's on display in a seperate building and looks like she did on her last mission. They just upped the admission by a few dollars this week but by far much cheaper than Disney and Universal Studios.
Check hobbylinc here https://www.hobbylinc.com/space-plastic-models Looks like all of their saturn V models are out of stock but they do have several models from the U.S. Space program if you are interested.
Hello,
Does anyone know where i can get a model saturn v? I would prefer the stages be seperable but it's not a requirement. I'm going to see one at The Kennedy space center in a few weeks so it sparked my intrest to build one.
