I am still trying to email them for 6 months. No reply yet. They are in the Ukrain.I have a damage canopy part that I need to complete my 1/32 ah-1 g cobra(early version). icm@icm.com.ua

I still had the email from my contact with them from a couple years back.  They ended up replying from export@icm.com.ua, maybe give that one a try?  I assume they are still in business, I just received a new product announcement.

Greg
Off topic, this post reminded me, wasn't there an old model company called IMC or is my memory playing tricks? That's what I misread into your question. I wondered, why are you asking about a company that's been gone for decades? Ha.

Industro-Motive Corp. (IMC) was a commercial plastic molding company in Detroit, which expanded into model kits in the 60s and 70s. (Can you guess which industry most of their 'regular' moldings went to?) They did a bunch of interesting vehicle kits...many of which have been 're-popped' by other companies over the years.

They got out of the model kit biz in the mid-'70s, with most of their tooling sold to Testors.

Glamdring

Just wanted to give a quick update: I received an update from the executive assistant to the CEO asking for some details on when and where I purchased the kit. Fortunately due to email hoarding tendencies, I found the email from my 2013 purchase from Squadron.

Long story short, ICM has an after sale support program that so long as the kit was purchased through their distribution network, of which Squadron is a part, they will offer a free replacement of the entire sprue!

Now that is service!

It amazes me that this still happens. A bunch of us remember back in the 60's and 70's (and even earlier for some I'm sure), it was pretty common to send a letter (remember those?) to model companies and get free parts. We expected it.

Things have changed so much, profit margins are down all over manufacturing, and it is just so cool to see this happening. And it's nice of you to pass along the story.

Just for a conclusion, I received a free replacement of the B sprue, which contains virtually the entire car body. Cheers to ICM!

Thats good to hear. I have had to contact a couple of companies in Eastern Europe, Aires and HPH, and service has always been first rate. In both cases the issues were self inflicted and they both replaced the parts for nothing.

No sorry I can't help you there, but there's nothing so frustrating as losing an intrical part.

Replacement parts from ICM

Has anybody had any experience/success getting a replacement part from this company?  I'm working on their 1/35 G4, and the windshield/car body part has just pulled a Houdini on me.  I've torn apart my entire modeling corner, and it is just gone.

The sad thing is that this kit has been a nightmare the entire way, and I can't end the suffering and finish it!
