Greg
We had a friend go to our house and open a faucet to a trickle until the subzeros pass. I have been debating with my wife about how it isn't necessary to increase the house temp for the pipes in this cold. Now it seems she is right yet again. She's always right. I'm glad you damage was minimal, Steve. Couple years back a neighbor had her entire front yard torn up due to a burst pipe on the city's side of the meter. They told her a running faucet would prevent this. She is now the neighborhood trickle police.

Hey Greg, that is an interesting story. I had not heard that about trickling water, but it sure makes sense. It sounds like you wife is a smart cookie! Trickle police—that is funny.

My friend Marcia lives in an apartment complex and they had several pipes burst. After that they told all the tenants to turn up their heat.

And yeah, I am glad the damage was minimal, hopefully. My remaining concern is mold behind the walls.

Let's hope not.

In the meantime, glad that cold snap ended for now. That was the first one that had me worried about personal property, and your story validated those worries, Steve.

Another snow storm!  We are only four inches from a record for the month of February, and this storm is supposed to dump five to eight inches!  And if this storm falls short, there is another one on the way for Saturday.

Of course, the weather is warmer, in the twenties, so I can get basement workshop warmed up enough to work.  Going to be hard to get to hobby shop this week.

Timmy, I feel for you. I've always been fond of AZ and it was on our list of possible winter places. I remember one day years and years ago, my then wife and I left Scottsdale (Phoenix area) in 90 degree sunshine for Jerome, a little old mining town not far from Sedona. By the time it was time to leave Jerome, it started snowing. Back in Phoenix that night, it was hot again. Jerome is 5,000 feet, and I had no idea of the climate differentials at the time.

CA folk know all about this, and recently, so do our Hawaiian brothers. I lived my life in Indiana, flat like a pancake so as I just said, I was clueless and that is why.

We got snow in Tucson too. Where I was at it didn't stick but the view of the Catalina mountains is beautiful to see.
