Build Review 2019
Posted by Bish on Sunday, December 29, 2019 5:20 AM

I swear it was not that long ago i was doing this for 2018, the years do come around quickly. I had a really good 2019 modelling wise, built some really nice kits and a couple that were more of a challenge. I finished a ship thats been in the stash for over 30 years and encouraged me to go back to visit the real thing, which i had not done since i got the kit.

I started off with a couple of 72nd aircraft, Dragons Ar 234B-2b

And the Airfix SM.79.

I also finished off a bust that i had been working on for a while. Youngs Miniatures 1/10th SS figure from the Ardenne.

Fine Molds 72nd Me 410 was a really nice kit.

And at the same time i did Hasegawa's 72nd Ju 188A-2 on a Kora Compass swing.

Mt first piece of armour was Takom's 35th Fv 432, a lovely kit.

I backdated the Airfix He 111P-2 into a P-1.

The AMG 72nd Bf 109B-1 wasa really nice build and a nice change of scheme for a 109.

Finally got a chance to do a 251 Ausf A, a subject i have been wanting for years. ICM's 35th kit was one of the best 251's i have built.

I went for some heavy chipping and weathering on AMT's Trade Federation Assault tank.

My first 4 engined German aircraft, Revell's 72nd Fw 200C-8.

I tend to avoid bi-planes, but the Airfix 72nd Gladiator was a real joy, even to rig.

My first Bandai kit, 1/72nd TIE Striker. Nice kit.

The old Airfix 72nd Mosquito was dressed up with dceals for a wartime aircraft operated by BOAC.

And the ship, the Airfix 1/600 HMS belfast.

And to end the year, Dragon's 1/35th Tiger I.

Thats it for another year. I am really looking forward to the coming year. I have my first 35th resin vehicle and 2 72nd ships planned, as well as a few other things.

happy new year to all and happy modelling in 2020.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

Cheers guys.

waikong, unfortunatly i do have to work and sleep, (and eat for that matter) but i am lucky in that i get loads of bench time. 2-3 hours every night, more at weekends and at least half a day to myself at the weekend.

It's always enjoyable to see your yearly builds. It gives us a chance to see the projectes we missed during the year.

That bust is excelent!

Steve

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

Great work, Bish, overall excellence. I've never done a vehicle before, your's are telling me I should give one a go. The Tiger has appeal, right wicked looker.

Thanks for the post and photos, Happy New Year.

Thanks patrick. In many ways i do enjoy vehicles more than aircraft. There is a lot more diorama options for starters. But, most of my models are still aircraft.

That was a very productive year.  Nice lineup of Luftwaffe subjects, and that Trade Federation tank looks awesome.

Outstanding 2019 Bish! All of your builds look amazing, and I really like how you incorporated a base in the majority of your builds. As stated before I really appreciate your halftrack build...big fan of that build. I look forward to seeing what you come up with for 2020.

Job well done sir YesYes

Thanks Jeff. I do like a nice dio, and even if its not a diorama, i don't think i could build anything without fitting it on a base. I have a bit of modern armour planned for this yera, but i am hoping to squeeze in a halftrack.
