Yea,in NJ I had a true basement, this one only the front 1/3 is underground, the rest is above ground with windows. They build it into the reverse slope.
tempestjohnnyGreat space Tojo. For me that's one thing I've had to get use to in Florida. No basements. Everything is built on a slab.
Oh boy, I hear that. Me too.
I thought of that when I read Tojo's thead too. Basements are such a regional thing I wondered if anyone out there doesn't even understand what they is! Sometimes folks ask what's stopping me from moving full time to FL. "My basement!" is my answer. Every time.
Very nice, Tojo.
Tojo72maybe somewhere down the we might finish it,but I do not have those skills and it would cost a load of money
You didn't ask for advice but I can't help myself.
Don't do it!!
Reminds me after I had our first house's basement finished, my father came to look at it and said "This is very nice. You'll never use it".
Built next house. It was bigger, with finished basement.
Built next house, even bigger. Very fancy finished basement.
All three had unfinished utility and hobby/work spaces. From small to big to bigger. Didn't really use any of the finished space much in all three, but spent a good deal of time in the workshops. Dad was right, as usual.
Current house has unfinished basement close to your size. That and the nice MBR shower made me buy it. I love my unfinished basement and will never finish it.
Unless my (new) Managing Partner of Domestic Affairs makes me, of course.
Congrats Tojo! Nice place you have there.

Exactly,it mirrors my living space above it
I can see that basement filling up with kits :)
Great space!
Thanks,

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

These areas are in my unfinished basement. It's insulated,we also use it for storage, and work out equipment.I just need to add some better overhead lighting, otherwise thats it. It's cool in the summer and not freezing in the winter. The whole area is 1484 sq ft,maybe somewhere down the we might finish it,but I do not have those skills and it would cost a load of money. But I am content to have a good space to build and display.I will probably add a few touches as I go along to make it my own.Its in the lower level of the house in the last picture.
