As a heads up, Revell will be releasing their B-29 model in a new edition, with new parts (no information on that). From the box cover, it appears it will include photo-etch.
No word on price, but I figure it will be well over $100 US.

SWMBO is not pleased....
Me on the other hand ....
I say it will have new decals, a small pe fret (remember the Kingfisher "Hi Tech"?)
the same molding with a bigger price tag and a couple of different plastic parts. Still a very nice model.
Too many models to build, not enough time in a lifetime!!
Kit has raided panel lines, otherwise its a nice kit. Freaking huge, btw.
The canopy mask set is crititical. Without it is a nightmare.
I could swear I already saw this boxing at my LHS a month or so ago? Odd...

Prescient?
Maybe the "new parts" is just the PE set

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

The PE parts will be a nice addition to that kit. Don't get me wrong, I love that kit and I don't want to burst anyone's balloon, but I'll bet that the following problems will not be fixed:
Cockpit greenhouse that does not match the shape of the fuselage.
Ridiculous looking exhaust pipes.
Poor fit at the engine nacelles.
Warped main wings that requires an 'out of the box' solution to fix.
No nose weights will be included which will require the builder to devise a solution.
I built this kit a few years ago. It builds into a super impressive model, but it requires a lot of patience and work. Maybe that is what modeling is all about? Of course, I made things more difficult because I finished the model in Bare Metal Foil. We'll see if Revell has fixed the above problems, but that would require the reworking of their molds.
Your comments and questions are always welcome.
We'll have to wait and see. However, because of the Corona virus, it may be a long wait. Will Revell still be around 6 months from now?

This would be a good purchase if under $ 150. Currently the older ones cost almost twice that.
Cost within the EU will probably a lot less than to us.
Modeling is an excuse to buy books.

I'd qualify that by inserting "can" or "may" before "cost". It all depends on where one looks and how patient one is. For example, I see auctions for the older original boxings up on eBay for a couple tens of dollars. I got a pair of original boxings at our local IPMS regional show, for ten bucks apiece.
Even if I didn't have those kits in my stash, though, this new release wouldn't interest me, precisely because it is likely to be far more than second-hand kits are, for not all that much extra for the price.

Gary I may be wrong, but I would think that a lot of people are buying models on-line so that they have something to do while they are stuck in their houses.

Yes, a lot of people are, but the quarantine is affecting even online stores, much less the ones producing the models. If all your employees are stuck at home or sick, it's difficult to make or ship a product. Model companies are not the most profitable of industries, so a dip in production or even a short shut-down might cause a bankruptcy. It's happened before and there wasn't even a pandemic then! Just a heads up to those stay at home modelers!
Of course, most of you have more models than you can build in a lifetime, as long as you can find glue and paint. We might need articles in the future on making both from available items!
Stay safe!
