I remember them carrying Trumpeter, ROG, and a larger selection of Tamiya models.

Too many models to build, not enough time in a lifetime!!

Indeed, when our local Hobby Lobby first opened, just the plastic models filled up both sides of an entire aisle. Now it is less than one side, and a lot of those are cars. Every once in a while you find something there that is worth it with the 40% coupon, but the 'good ol days' of having a large selection at HL are clearly over.

I hope my HL can maintain a decent stock of kits being we have no local hobby/model shops anywhere close. I remember when our HL first opened they had an aisle full of kits-lots of Tamiya, Dragon, Academy, HobbyBoss and the usual stock of Monogram/Revell. Since then, the aisle has gotten smaller. But, they do have a few kits and occasionally you’ll find something out of the ordinary stock. I usually go in and at least pick up a few bottles of MM while supplies last. If they put a kit on sale or if there is something I really like, I usually pick it up using the 40% coupon.

I recently built an Osprey kit from Hasegawa.  Very nicely engineered, high quality.  1/72.

Is that osprey kit any good?

Good or bad, last I knew it was the only game in town in 1/48. It’s an update of the original Testors/Italeri kit from 1989.

Hobbyboss has announced a kit, but it’s not here yet...

They did. I have the 1/48 V-22 I bought there and it has had to have been in my stash at least 10 years now Max Bryant

Last I check (Before NJ Stay at Home Orders) they had a few new kits but still had the same Revell kits they usually carried.

I do need some new brushes though.

On Ed's bench, ???

I'm pretty sure they have carried Italeri before; I remember seeing the World of Tanks branded Italeri armor kits (all old 1970s, 80s, 90s kits) on sale there.

They used to be one of the "cheapest" places to buy new Dragon armor kits if you used the 40% off coupon.

They now carry Atlantis kits too, soon after they are released.

They also have three racks of Testor paints, while supplies last.

Not a huge selection of modeling supplies or kits there. If you build 1/48 aircraft of 1/35 armor, the pickings are mighty slim. But they do occasionally carry a kit that I would like and keep a few other items on hand such as CA glues, Tamiya glue, putties, and primers. Then the 40% off coupon comes in handy.

40% Off brushes is a nice thing.   Also like getting 40% tamiya gray primer, it's all I've been using for a long time.
