Very impressive build. I've been building since I was a kid and starting back up now but my builds don't look this good. Do share some of your best do's and don'ts. Thanks.
Once again guys thanks for the words of encouragement.. Have 3 more bikes on their way now... I just hope I don't start punching to much above my weight..
II said I'd stick to simple fairingless bikes for a while... However couldn't resist buying the Honda vfr750r kit.... Looks like a great kit... may be a little to advanced for me with a full fairing etc.. But we will see... Nothing ventured nothing gained eh :)
Tanker-Builder Hello Foxy! Well? What do you want? This bike is the Cat's Meow. That's for sure. Your emerging talent is showing! Ah! that's what you wanted, to give me the keys?

This is AWSOME. Well done
That's excellent! I'm not really one for bikes, but I'd be proud to have that one on display - well done!

Foxy,
You did an excellent job, never would have guessed it was your first.
Buddy- Those who say there are no stupid questions have never worked in customer service.
FoxyNot sure if that's excessive time or not! but it seemed like an eon lol
It's only excessive if you think it is. I've known builders to take several years building a kit to make it look like they want.
Steve
Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

modelcrazy You're kidding right? That's your first ever model? WOW, I only wish my models turned out like that after over 50 years of building.

Thank you all again for you're kind words of encouragement ... Well I've now ordered my second bike a suzuki gsx1100s katana (im not brave enough to try a full fairing bike yet) .. So hopefully I can take what I learnt from building the last one and take my end results one step further.. Will still be a bit of trail and error as I've just bought some vallejo metal colours so will be trying them for the chrome and aluminium parts...
beautiful bike !!
Nick.
Very nice build! Can I borrow the keys to it for the weekend?

lovely work , I'd be proud of it now , and I've been modeling for a few years .
I’m pretty new also. Like you I’ve found the people on here amazing. Everyone has been so generous with sharing their knowledge and answering questions. It really help me navigate things I didn’t understand.
Never would have guessed that was your first. Well done.
Enjoy

we're modelers it's what we do
So in what seems like an eon I've finally finished my first ever scale model.. Its far from perfect, it was more of a test run for different methods and mediums than anything else.. And Do's and don'ts.. I've learnt a few do's and a multitude of do not's for the next time.. However with that said I'm more than happy with how it has gone and the fun I had doing it and that's mainly due to this forum.. So i just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyones invaluable info that I have searched and to those who have answered my questions personally.. So thank you guys for your time and effort in helping newbies like me got a foot on the scale modelling ladder..
I've posted a link to the finished model just incase anyone wants to cast a critical eye over it or just to have a quick look(couldn't figure out how to post them directly on here sorry)...
Thanks again and happy modelling..
