That's so cool!

I'd almost be tempted to put some stain on it - maybe the bare wood looks better, I'm not sure...

I'm equally conflicted. I'm tempted to take the airbrush to it, but can't think what colour to paint it. I think it looks OK, and have plenty of other projects on the go (finish my Valentine and I've already started building the next tank - a Centurian). So it'll probably stay as it is.

I never even knew that this kit existed. That masterpiece must make for a great conversation piece!! 

Nice.  Looks like a great kit.  Well done.  We had a Davinci exhibit at the San Diego air and space museum maybe 10 years ago.  Fascinating stuff.

I have been thinking about geting one of the Italeri kits for a while.

Ah. Two fellow appreciators . It was a Pathfinders kit and went together nicely. Just a couple of the axles needed a little work as they were a shade too thick.

That's pretty neat.  I have a large wood kit of his ornithopter that I really should get built. It would have taken a seriously strong person to get the wings to flap!

DaVinci's "turtle tank" was another fascinating design.  But again, weight would seem to have been a problem, as it was powered by the occupants turning cranks.  But dang, it looked so cool.

Well:

     He might not have figured the weight thing right, But fascinating isn't it? I have both iterations of his Flapping flying Machine. One flies the other doesn't.
