None.  However,  I am working on 3 at the moment,  1 is finished, a DML Panzer IV F1 awaiting be weathered and dull coated, a ESCI 1/9 Kubelwagen, in progress, and a Tamiya M-10 that is being assembeled.  That is average for me.  I like to finish every one I start.

I do have a few kits that were damaged by curious kitty.  He walked across storage table in the basement that I had a bunch of finished models on, mostly armour and some 1/48 planes.  He did minor damage on a few, nothing serious. But it was a daunting challenge to fix them.  Oh well, I'll get around to it, sometime.

Too many here as well.  But, I am almost done with my F-16CJ which I started 4 years ago...only to have it be a shelf queen for 3 years.  So, that will be one fewer shelf queen.  Now, if I can just get rid of my hangar queens at work I'll be set.

More than Castro Street on a Saturday night...

No seriously, too many to feel proud of.

Hello!

The short answer would be: too many!

It's a sad topic, isn't it? Even one is actually too many! It hurts me to count them. But I hope there arent as many as in your photos.

Good luck with finishing them and have a nice day!

Paweł

How Many Shelf Queens Do You Have?

NOTICE - I did check the forums to see if this topic had been posted recently, but I couldn't find anything (going back over a year)!

Towards the end of December I was finishing up my 12th build and realized that 2020 was my most productive modeling year, but I also realized that all those kits were new/unstarted.  It occurred to me that I had a bunch of unfinished builds languishing on the shelves gathering dust, some going back 12-13 years!  I had to ask myself why I never finished those kits.  Some were half built, some ready for paint, some even had decals on and just needed to be finished up.  So i decided for 2021 my modeling goal is to complete as many of those "shelf queens" as possible.

First - take a count!  Turns out I have 20 kits in various stages of completion, most of them armor.  Here's a couple of pics (some of the builds are still in boxes so they aren't in the pics)

Second -  decide which ones to start first.  Still working on that, but I will be posting my work in the armor forum!!

I don't plan on completing all of them this year, nor do I plan on working on them exclusively....there are some unstarted kits in the stash that I plan on building this year!

So how about you?  How many shelf queens to you have?  Is 20 a lot? Hmm
