1/48 Scale US Navy WW2 Carrier Deck

Never thought of that, very interesting solution which I am likely going to try, thank you!

I have googled tarmac photos, copied them and printed them out. I glue them to the base and put a few light coats of Future to seal it and follow up with a flat finish. Don't see any reason why you couldn't do the same with googling the carrier deck of your choice, copying a photo of the deck and doing the same as I did to finish it. Costs a lot less to.

If you're up to it, you could also scratch build it from wood. I'm a cheap old guy so I take the easy way out. Hope this helps a little.

Given the ready availability of some truly astounding images out there on the 'Net, whipping up bases like this is easier than ever.

If you're up for it, try adding the word 'texture' to your next search parameters. It sometimes turns up gaming images or other 'created' artwork tailor-made for such repurposing.
