I went in to our local Hobbytown last weekend and was suprised to see a new paint rack full of the Revell Aqua Color paints. Both the spray cans and the little box/bottles.
Unfortuanatley their model selection has gotten smaller as time goes by, I think the RC stuff is their big seller here.

Our Hobbytown is a neat place. Their prices are the same a Scalehobbyist like you said, very compeditive. My only beef is that most the the kits they carry are ones I'm not intrested in IE Gundam, Lindberg, Atlantas, and mostly 35 and 48 scale. They do have some Tamiya and I'm very tempted to grab one even if it is 1/48. I would buy them out if they stocked more 72 planes and armor. The owners know me and are always happy to see me even though I all I usually get is paint.
That reminds me, I believe they are having a contest this month

There may be some in the Twin Cities, but it would have to be pretty darn good to justify driving an hour. Best one I know is Sclae Model Supplies on University and Snelling in St. Paul, but I won't go since last year's riots.

The long term Hobbytown that was 3 miles away went out 3 or 4 years ago, owner retired after her last kid went off to college. I found it a bit odd that the departure of one high school employee could sink the entire business, but she mentioned the lease was expiring as well, so there would likely have been a severe increase in rent. Oddly enough, the space is still vacant. I really miss that store, it was right next to a DQ.
Next one is 25 minutes away, but I never make it there. There is a dedicated model/railroad shop in between my house and that Hobbytown location that gets my business.

You sir are one lucky modeler! Our San Antonio store close some years back and no one has seen fit to start another. For me it was a pretty hard loss.I bought supplies for our Museum Builders there, plus Train stuff. Usually when I went for Museum stuff I spent my budgeted money on my personal stuff too.
They always had a nice selection of plastic, paints and hardware. I miss too their R.C. stuff because I do go there with ship models. The biggest plus though was being greeted by name when I went there. Kinda like the Brick and Mortar shop I used to go to when I was a kid!
It must depend on what the owner wants,ours has lots of R/C but also 2 good aisles full of kits of all kinds and brands along with several brands of paints.Also Sci fi and gaming stuff.
Like a LHS of old
I've stopped by our HT a few times, but they seem to be out of stock of many items. I know that's industry wide right now, but it seemed pretty bare on the shelves. What they had was reasonably priced, though.
Ours seems to cater much more to the RC crowd than plastic display models.
Hobbytown is a neat store. I am lucky to have one near me too, and I try to support them when I can.
I am planning on getting one of the new Tamiya Mustang kits from them this spring. I could maybe get it cheaper online, I'm not sure.

Went to the Asheville Hobby Town to get some paints.I was very surprised that Tamiya bottles were priced the same as ordering from Scalehobbyist,my go to for paint
Also the Tamiya P-38 was the exact same price as Scalehobbyist and I actually purchased the Tamiya Pershing there for the same price online.
No knock on Scalehobbyist, but a shout out to the LHS for actually competing,cant remember the last kit I bought in a store.
