Mopar Madness

I've read somewhere that storing CA in the fridge helps extend it's shelf life.

This is true MM. I have been doing this for some years and always clean the spout with paper.

I give the bottle a couple good taps on the table to knock any remnants from the nozzle back down after I drip some out.  This is probably an obvious one as well, but I make sure the CA bottle is stored upright at all times.

If a tip does clog on rare occasions, I have a few spare bottle tops for my Bob Smith Industries glue, I swap it for a clean one and soak the clogged one in acetone bath for a couple days.  It is good as new afterwards because the acetone dissolves the dried glue and has no affect on the plastic.

A trick to keeping the cap from being permanently attached, put a little vaseline around the tip!

I have to use the pin vise to re-open the tip on my bottle of ultra-thin super glue, but not the medium-viscosity stuff that I have.  When you need another bottle of the medium, try the Gorilla super glue with the light blue cap.  It has a tip design that never clogs.  You just occasionally have to knock off the dried chunk of glue that collects around the rim of the tip, but the tip itself doesn't clog.  It also doesn't dry out in the bottle as quickly as others I have used.

Ditto and it lasts pretty long in the bottle too

Minimizing issues with those pesky super glue bottles!

In regards to this type of super glue, which I get at Hobby Lobby:

I'm sure that others have had issues with the glue drying up long before the bottle is empty, or with glue amassing at the tip, causing the lid to not go back on properly, or with the tip itself getting clogged, etc. Well, I have been doing the following basic things to prevent this and they're working for me:

1) After every use (EVERY use, each time you squeeze a dollop out), wipe the tip with a paper towel and stick the cap back on.

If you go back later and the tip is clogged,

2) Use a pin vise to drill through the clog.

Repeat 1 and 2 over and over again. I have had zero issues with the bottle shown so far. The last one I used was a disaster.

Hope this helps!
