Now, dont get me wrong, I like Squadron. I like the catalog. But I had a couple of gripes.
it seems like everything is a lot more expensive than last year. I can relate to the inflation and whatnot, but you'd think that not having to have a store front and buying things wholesale, they might be cheaper than your local. but no.
The kit of the year is apparently the Trumpeter Liberty ship. ok, Ive never seen this kit in the store, built, or in a magazine. Im sure its great and all, but how wide is the appeal for this type of model? at least with the Hornet last year I might conceivalby build one some time, not likely, but I just
might ... but this one, I dont know. Maybe it is the best kit this year, but not for me.
Ok, one more thing... the one thing I kept turning the page and expecting to see, wasnt there... DML (dragon) doesnt have ANY space in there at all! whats up with that? their recent kits are great, everyone seems to like them, more or less. They still sell them on the website, so why arent they in the catalog? Not in the 1/35 area, or in the ships either.
Well, just wanted to get that off my chest. I know they cant put everything in the catalog, but it just seems like a rather glaring ommision, considering the popularity of some of their recent kits on these forums, like the new tiger and halftrack 3 in 1 kits, and the new PaK 7.5.
Im sure I still may order decals, canopys and books from them, and I would certainly use the website for that anyway, but its nice having that shiny catalog in your hands.
