SWEET!! i owe 80% of my small stash to Hobby Lobby 1/2 off sales!! thanks for the heads up, but i'm still tryin' to find somethin' a cheap alternative for an air source in my apartment. i'm new to apartment living and have 3 industrial type compressors that would spell certain eviction if i cranked them up. so, i'll have to pass up on the 1/2 off sale this time and save the cash for a quiet air source. later.

Printing off a few more coupons as we speak, I will go in today and pick up the kits that are on my mental list, but then before the end of the week I will be thinking "I'd better pick that one kit up while it's on sale", then by the time Friday rolls around I will want to stop back in just to be sure I didn't miss anything.
The stash continues to grow.......

Well, it's almost time to go, another 40 minutes and it's into the "Danger Cart" to pick up around $50 of models. Yes, the Mrs put a limit on the purchase, but she says she knows they'll restock half way through the week , so I guess that's an OK to spend another $50 on a second round of model buying... oh boy, oh boy!

I'm pretty tired from working all night, so I may just give her a list and let her surprise me. Then again, after taking a shower I may feel good enough to terrorize the store with her... Wink [;)]

I'll post a pic of my ill-gotten goods once she or I or the both of us are back... Wink [;)]

Round 1 wasn't very good for me, I already have almost all the armor kits from previous sales, I did pick up the M4A3, I didn't have that one in my inventory yet, also grabbed the Nismo GT-R, been looking at that kit about 100 times, that was it for me today, I have to stop back in tomorrow for some paint so I will take another look, I need to check my stash, not sure what all I already have.

Stupid me, I blew my gift card from Christmas last week. (it was a clearance item though) I'm trying to restrain myself from buying the Revell AG Lancer. We'll see...

Round 2 scores me a Tamiya Enzo Ferrari, Tamiya M1A2 Abrams and Revells Porsche GT-1 EVO kit, next scheduled trip will be Friday to "mop up". Not really much left that I'm interested in, but we'll see.

I bought some Tamiya accessories today. I was hoping to get another Tamiya Panther G but they were sold out. I'm going to hit some more Hobby Lobby stores in the area later this week.

Sorry salty,

Stick with your plan for that silent air compressor. Why don't you sell a few of the other compressors you've mentioned to finance the new silent model? That way you can use your cash to pick up a few good deals? Wink [;)]

Only one day left before I make my final trip to HL and see what else I can find before the sale ends, if they don't get some new kits before the next 50% off sale, there will be nothing left for me to buy....wait, maybe that's a good thing, not because of the money spent, but more because of the lack of places to stash the kits, wife is supportive of my hobby but may have issues if she opens the oven and finds it stuffed full of model kits, "but honey, they were on sale" Big Smile [:D]

So glad I don't have that problem. The Mrs forced me to buy the Enzo Ferrari (I must admit that 1/2 off $51 is a good deal) and the Nissan Skyline Cool [8D] I felt guilty for going over my budget, but I got over that when I bought her a few new games and a new soundcard for the PC... Approve [^]

Well, that about does it for me, round 3 was the least productive as I have pretty much bought everything HL has to offer me, today I picked up the Tamiya M-26 Pershing and Ford Focus RS WRC 01 Rally car and that was it.
Oh sure I could have found more kits to buy, but I figured I'd leave something for next time, I mean c'mon, how many of these kits do you really think I'm gonna get built before the next sale? Hmmm...I would guess maybe 1 or 2 at the most, that is if I don't decide to build something else that was previously in my stash. That Enzo is looking mighty enticing though.

I made out like a bandit, just as everyone else who was able to take advantage of HL's awesome sale, I can't wait until the next one!!
Thank you Hobby Lobby.

Hey tho - I bought two here in Cincinnati, and asked that they order in the other ones from Texas! Just kiddin'.....

I had a rather meager budget ($30 to $35 or so...), I just bought $60 worth on e-Bay, but my wife knows how much I want to collect. So what did I get?

-1/48 Monogram ProModeler A-4E/F (Blue Angels)
-1/48 Revell-Monogram F-105G
-1/48 Revell (Monogram?) F-4J (Blue Angels)
-1/72 Revell Germany P-47D

My 3 year old daughter picked out the P-47, she wants me to build her a purple airplane, to go next to the pink airplane that's about to go on her shelf (it's a 1/72 F6F Hellcat w/ Dora and Disney Princesses stickers on it).

The A-4 has USMC markings for an E model...I'll probably do that. I may do the F-4J in operational markings...I'm not big on doing demonstration teams. Although...I'd rather "waste" a Monogram kit than a Hasegawa kit on doing Blue Angels colors....

On Bench: AM P-51B, Tamiya 1/48 F4U-1A On Deck: Hasegawa F-14's (too many); Tamiya P-47D; Academy P-47N;

Now that the sale is over, here is my rundown:
Tamiya-
M4A3 Sherman
M1A2 Abrams
M26 Pershing
T-55A
A couple of accessory kits
Enzo Ferrari
Nismo GT-R
Ford Focus RS WRC 01

Revell-
Porsche GT-1 EVO
Hummer H1 ( The snaptite kit, only because as far as I know it is the only H1 kit available, and since I build these things in real life, I want to build a kit of one, I figure it will take me about as long as it takes for the paint to dry.)

Hobbycraft-
Iraq "Fedayeen Technical" ( I considered some of the other Hobbycraft kits, but I want to build one first to see if they are worth a crap, they are pretty cheap anyways and almost always in the clearance section.)

I think that is it, not a bad haul, I left a few behind for the next sale, hopefully they will get some new stuff in before then.

Picked up the Accurate Miniatures B-25 c/d. Looks like a fun kit, we'll see if my skills have improved since I did the B-25J in 6th grade.
