Mmmm.. Left Belgium in order to 'escape' from doing compulsory military service... Please do not shoot me down!

But I swear I have nothing against military people. Indeed I have lots of friends and a great brother-in-law in the Belgian army (they scrapped compulsory military service in the mid-'90s by the way!)

Eric, where are you stationed at. I think I know what you mean when you say 'the desert'. That is why I started modeling. I can't do anything outside now because its so freakin hot. I live in Arizona.

Gus, I'm at Dobbins ARB in Atlanta GA. My reference was to getting activated last May and spending the next 4 months in Kuwait. (The 4 HOTTEST months!)
It really wasn't that bad, 137F was the highest I saw (dry heat my rear! ) butI don't care to go back there.
We were lucky, we got out before it started getting (more) tense over there and I didn't get reactivated for the war.

Enjoy Arizona, here it just get's in the upper 90's with 80% humidity!!!Big Smile [:D]

U.S. Navy, 3 1/2 years during the early 1960s. Served aboard three destroyers; two Fletcher class and one Forest Sherman class stationed at Newport, R.I. Served as Communications Officer, OC Division Officer, Crypto Security Officer, Top Secret Control Officer, Postal Officer, and (believe it or not) Welfare and Recreation Officer. Had three, six month, Med. cruises. It was a great life for a bachelor! Got to go places and see things that I would never have been able to afford otherwise.

U.S. Navy - 13 years ('65-'68 & '74-'84) as a Torpedoman's Mate on submarine tenders (AS-16.18 & 34), cruisers (CG-32, CGN-38) and even an aircraft carrier (CVN-69) with a little shore duty in between.

Wouldn't trade a day of it.

Rick,

Who would have thought that there was another Ikatraz inmate out in the trenches? What division were you with? I was in CS-4, probably still called OEC while you were there.
