Isn't it strange how the women given a chance are actually better than us! NIce to hear of some modelling harmony. Its great to encourage you partners in this fashion especially if your modelling time is limited and you are keen to proceed with your own models. Wishing the PT all the best for the impending build!!Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

thats cool John... my wife was interested in a ship ahile back. (one of those wood planked ones with all the rigging) after talking her down to a Revell PT-109 as a first model she chickened out when she started looking at the instructions.

I tried telling her, she LOVES crosswords and puzzles and thats a lot what putting a model together is like. She is extremely artistic and I thin after learning some weathering basics she would blow me away with it.

Funny thing is the basement/TV thing is exactly what I think it would eliminate in my house as well... Maybe this weekend I can get her into it... shelve all of my builds and sit with her through at least the first part of hers...

A little update: so we delivered the B-17 to my dad yesterday and he was thrilled. I told him that my wife did all the painting and he was very happy...she's a perfectionist and he knows it. All in all, definitely "my" best work and all thanks to here painting. Big Smile [:D]

So...we got talking about models, and I think I've got her hooked. She's very interested in trying out her own B-17, and I offered her a shot at anything else in my stash (with a couple exceptions Smile [:)]). Got her her own hobby knife today, giving it to her this evening. Hopefully, another modeler is born!

What's nice is that it's something we can do together, instead of me being down in the garage for a couple hours every evening while she's bored watching TV or reading. I'm one lucky guy!!

I tried to get my ex to use an airbrush before, but I lost all patience after watching her butcher the thing for two hours. Then she got pissed and never touched it again Tongue [:P]

So I got this idea in my head about 2 months ago to build a B-17F for my dad's birthday, which was last Friday but we're celebrating it this coming Sunday. Anyway, he loves B-17s, his favorite a/c of all time; he's also a Superman nut. Well, I managed to get my hands on the huge Zotz decal set which has (among other things) nose art for the B-17F named "Superman" which flew early in WWII.

My wife decided that she'd like to help me out with this build, since it's from the both of us and it'd be nice if we both worked on it. So I did all the initial assembly and seam work and she has done all of the painting!!! I don't mean just little details or the guns or something...I mean, I handed her the airbrush and she took off with it. And she's good! Far better than I am at this point, and this is the first time she's ever used an a/b. This -17 will be probably "my" best work so far, and it's all due to her painting. Big Smile [:D]

I've been trying to get her into the hobby for a while now, maybe this is the incentive I need. Anyway, thought I'd share with y'all. Big Smile [:D]Big Smile [:D]Big Smile [:D]
