does anyone keep a clean work area

just wondering if people are like me i cant seem to keep my work area clean

my wife hates the fact that it always looks a mess but i understand the chaos

I clear the deck in between builds. Other than these very brief times, mine looks like a complete mess.

I keep it reasonably clean. I try to put back tools etc. after I have used them.

I tend to keep my work area fairly neat and tidy. The only time that is not the case is when I'm actually working on a model. Outside of those times, everything has its place, and I like it that way.

I occasionally go through and put everything back into place. Did that Saturday as a matter of fact. Some times it helps me to clear my mind. Most of the time it is a mess though.

not sure what MDF boards mean arki30. all i know is that they're basically drywall thats resistant to fire. it was supposed to go up in the front part of the basement, but we never got it. now im on the neverending quest to find that old science lab table to replace it.

BTW- you should see my dad's portion on the other side, and the spray area!!

Just a tip for all of you guys working off of sheets of plywood and old doors. Look in your phonebook yellow pages or on-line for used equipment or used industial equipment warehouses then call them and see what they have for desks. I live not too far from Cleveland Ohio and there are two places I go to there that have virtual mountains of used desks for $25.00 to $50.00 each. I picked up a monstrous wood executive desk for my computer work station that was like brand new for $25.00 and a metal dest for my modeling for another $25.00 and yet another metal executive desk for one of my kids for, you guessed it, $25.00. As many of you are well aware that is less than the cost of many model kits these days and it beats the heck out of a sheet of plywood.

I dont think any of those are too messy, after all they are WORK stations. I have not eaten at my dining roomtable in a year and a half! I also have an R/C work station in my bedroom. It's a solid core door slab on two sawhorses!
wing_nut - I kinda like your paint shelves, how did you make them?
