Hey, Rob Gronovius,

I just found the pictures of your model stash, and I if you were here, I would shake your hand and buy you a beer.

My wife and I just moved, and during the process she put in more than a few non-constructive comments about the size of my stash.  Then I showed her your pics.  Hey, I might just get away with a couple more from Hobby Lobby sale this weekend.  Thanks.  Wink [;)]

I've posted these before but it was awhile back.

This is my main stash. The shelves are deeper than they look, (the B-36 box goes all the way to the back) so there are many more behind the ones you can see.

This is more recent aquisitions. Note the Arii "Patriot Ladar" kit.Laugh [(-D]

You guys really put mine to shame I only have a little cabinet for them.

I rearranged a few shelves in my room to make room for more kits. Its up to around 20... I think the stress I would feel from owning all those kits and sitting there with modelers block trying to deceide which kit to build would not be good! I have a hard enough time trying to keep myself focused on the one I am working on now, and not pulling a new one out to start on. I have a few just sitting and waiting on me to finish them, but it doesn't ever seem to happen? Life can be so hard!!!Dead [xx(]

Here's mine. Mostly four tires and a steering wheel. There are a few tanks and ships off to the right side. I just added six more to it yesterday at the Cactus Classic swapmeet.

Normally, they pack them up into wardrobe boxes that stand about 4 feet tall. This was the first time ever that my stash has been almost totally unpacked and placed out in plain sight. I was amazed at what I had. A lot of stuff. I started donating items to my club's raffle for the regional show. I've donated some to the club to send to troops overseas, I've given some to guys online deparately looking for an elusive kit.

BTW, there are still guys online who see my stash and reply, "you call that a stash, you should see my collection." Funny, these "one up men" never seem to post photos of their mythical stashes that dwarf mine.

Jeez guys! I need to buy more kits... 7 more should be here this week... that takes the total to, oh, say, 20! I mean c'mon, give us poor guys a chance to keep up!

Oh Boy......... When does our hobby move from being a harmless pastime to an obsession....... As I get older i am trying hard to cut back on the buying and actually cut some inroads into my stash.....Big ships and tall ships take a long time to finish but I did buy them with the intent of building not just as expensive insulation....Now down to 40 kits.....and one lonely Dambuster Lancaster because I used to live near their base.

Rob, my tax dollars at work. Big Smile [:D] How long does it take you to box that collection, when you get transfered? You do take it with you, don't you?

I may get so drunk, I have to crawl home. But dammit, I'll crawl like a Marine.

I always enjoy when this type of thread pops up because I get to see Major Robs "hobby shop" again! What does your wife think of that (perhaps she has a bigger stash of something else taking up the rest of the house).

Nice store, er collection there Rob. I see you like Leopards.
I've got a few: Tamiya 1A4, 2A5 & 2A6, Italeri 1A4 and II, plus most of the 1/72 scale Leopards, but not any particularly great collection of Leos in my stash.

You might be looking at the old Tamiya M1 kits. I have a few of those, I used to make my own M1A1s using modeling skills and the old kit.
