I agree, let us remember the soldiers who fought for us, and the end of WWI.

Lets come to Belgium all this evening , to Ypers, at 8.00 PM, to hear the Last Post !

Cheers,

Jürgen

I'm an army brat, born on base at CFB Greisbach, Edmonton. My father was with the Loyal Eddies at Ortona, my uncle flew for both the RAF (Hercs in the BoB) and the RCAF (bomber escort out of Malta), my father-in-law & grandfather-in-law were in the British Army (both at el Alamein), my mother-in-law was evacuated from London to Canada as a child (her mother was eventually bombed out of three homes), and my mother built Lancs at Avro and took war amps to Leafs games as a volunteer. My grandmother was a personal friend of Lt. Colonel John McRae (author of "In Flanders Fields"). You can be sure that my entire family will be at the local cenotaph at 11AM to honour those who have fallen and those who served, and to thank those who still serve, to insure our freedoms.

So long folks!

Well said John, we certainly owe so very much to those who have gone before us.

this is indirectly related to this subject but

the va (veterans administration) of the U.S. has just stated that there are only about 3 dozen wwi vets left in this country

an interesting and yet sad statistic
