Ideas for a modeling desk?

My wife and I are in the first stages of having a house built.  Luckily, she understands my hobby(to a point) and has no problem with me having my own model room.  The article in the Nov '04 FSM is my inspiration on how to design the room.  One thing I will be adding is hot and cold water(the room is next to where the laundry room will be).

It'll be a month or so before ground is broke, but I will post progress pics.

The corner will allow you more desk area, without losing a lot of floor space. I would recommend just using pine wood that you can get any any lumber yard or home store. I guess the only advice I can tell you is that the best way to get your diamensions for your new desk is to measure them off your old one, like its height. That may not seem all that important until you sit down and the desk comes up to your chin Other than that, have fun and here is a pic of my desk I built not to long ago, maybe it will help give you some ideas?

Its pretty simple in design. I did that to save money and time, I think I spent about $6 for the whole thing, not counting lumber I already had.

first it is a shame you had to lose all that to gain a modeling desk

but yes a corner would give you more room
