Apparently/allegedly I have possibly/maybe heard about some people using this method to explain recent purhaces if "she who must be obeyed" comes into your work area/shop/room and spots something new and she is not sure if it is new or not, and she asks about it ,just say  'oh that, i've had that for months! Evil [}:)]Wink [;)]

Remember that you must be kept alive to smash bugs and find out what that noise was.  Maybe you'll be sleeping where the noises usually come from (livingroom) or practicing your cooking.  There will definitely be words.  My wife is well aware of all the stuff I have so that if something new shows up she knows that she needs to make me suffer.  Fortunately, I still keep large amouts of things at my parents house.  They have space and I live in a tiny apt and she might be able to see me type this so I must be quick.  So when we visit I usually have the order placed strategically so arrival occurs during our absence and the package is delivered to the office.  I retrieve the package when the moment is right.  Later, I claim that I brought it back from my parents when we visit.  Hasn't failed yet.  The store purchases work in a similar way.  Inside the truck is a cooler.  The cooler is sometimes in the car for groceries and sometimes in the closet empty.  The cooler is just big enough to hold three 1/35 kits.  Using clever distractions I can maneuver the kits from place to place.  This is very dangerous and only occurs around the visits as well.

I just say - "I used my lunch money and got a good deal on it". If that doesn't go over to good, I'll throw this at her - "I can always go back to drinking, fast cars, and fast woman". At that point, I'm either sleeping on the sofa with my new purchase or in my camper [fancy dog house hehe]. Either way, I won because I get to keep my new purchase.  Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

LOL...... glad to know we all face the same things.

A few years ago, I'd gotten a promotion, and my wife really started telling me how she thought it would help if I had a Palm Pilot to organize my stuff. She thoroughly convinced me, and so went down to BestCircuitBuyCityShackMart and picked one up.

The next weekend we're in the mall and she's showing me this diamond wrap for her engagement ring. I said "Is it expensive?"

"No", she replied.

"It costs the same amount as your Palm Pilot."

BAM! Set up!

I know how you can get the expenditure for your A/B set up to go by smoothly. When you bring it in the house, drape it in jewelry.

"Look what was stuck underneath this diamond bracelet honey!"

My wife is laughing sooooooo hard at these.  Well played, gentlemen!  Well played!  Smile [:)] Thumbs Up [tup]

But she did say something that made me stop and stare at her for her insight:  "Well, when you think about it, I'd rather pay that money to your hobby store than to a therapist.  After all.  This -is- your stress relief."

I love her and thank god for her daily. Smile [:)] Kisses [:X]

So how are you going to explain to her where they come from when you get this set up.Seems to me it would be easier to just tell her up front what you plan to buy. Thankfully I don't have that problem as my wife fully supports my hobby and shows interest in what I do. One thing you may have to do is set up a cot in the room with it
BTW have fun with the new setup and happy painting

Well right now my wife works from about 12pm to 8pm most days so I can use it when she is not home. As for telling her............................................... We live from check to check as a lot of people do. I can't ever get 10.00 a month from her. I get NO MONEY at all from her :( sad I know. I have Rheumatoid Arthriits and have not worked in about 14 years, but I do get monet from SSD. But that all gos to paying the bills.

I was thinking " BAD IDEA, I know " I can get some cash up to pay the 1st 2 or 3 months from the VISA. and maybe I can get a under the table job when school starts up again and pay off that bill :):)

I do want to thank all of you, all the posts I have read here is making me laugh.... and I needed that

Sorry, fellas, I just cannot understand this 'my wife is going to kill me if she finds out' mentality.  My wife never questions what I buy for my enjoyment.  Nor do I question what she buys on sale at Kohl's on a Saturday afternoon.  Stop feeling guilty, go buy the darn thing, and be up front with her.

Bud,

I'm jealous......... My work station is just one big desk, which I do many different things on it.  I need to get a work station specifically for building models......

I'm one of those people who has posted "my wife is going to kill me if she finds out."  Anyway, you seem to have a very nice wife.

It is not because I'm afraid of her or trying to lie to her, but because I'm buying more than I am building, I feel guilty about it.  My wife never questions about me buying things for my enjoyment and she is very supporative of my hobbies (she comes to shooting ranges, fishing trips, camping, hiking and kayaking with me all the time) and she seats next to me and do her own things while I build my models.  Problem is, I can't be up front with her every week and say "Honey, I just bought another 10 kits off of Ebay and I got a great deal!"  Now, I have problem with purchasing habit and this is something that I need to work on.  I can't be bidding on stuff on ebay because it is a good deal or it is one of a kind.  I need a professional help!Big Smile [:D]
