                        I wish they'd design a T-shirt that says on the top: "New York Yankees", underneath that is the face of a pig wearing a Yankees cap, and there is a bubble caption coming out of the pig's mouth that reads: "Isn't it great to be a winner?"

                        Lets see...Yanks have been in 39/100 World Series. They have won 26/100 World Series. Has Steinbrenner been around that long??? Jealousy is a horrible trait baseball fans. Yanks have done it without Steinbrenner and when he is gone, they will still be the best major league baseball team in history.

                        I love soccer too, it´s really my favorite sport has it is for the majority of the europeans, I even have a season ticket for the home games of my team (Sporting Club de Portugal), but NBA, NHL, NFL, MLB are great. I love watching a game live specially the post season games. GO lakers, Go Kings, GO cleveland indians, GO SF 49ers

                        I was glad to see the Yanks win, Boston deserves the curse for another 50 years. But the series will be pretty booring, I was hoping for a Yanks and Cubs series. I've got a feeling this will be one of the least watched series in a while.

                        And Thyamis, you're right, baseball is a bit booring, but soccer, give me a break. Where is the excitement in a three hour game that usually ends up 1-0. The only exciting thing about soccer is the hooligans rioting, and they only riot because soccer is so booring (see the Simpsons) they've got nothing better to do.

                        I sure wanted to see a Cubs/Red Sox World Series this year, but after what happened in Game 6 of the NLCS, I wasn't surprised to see the Cubs lose Game 7 too. I've never seen momentum switch so quickly in a baseball game! A few fans interfere with a foul ball and before you know it, the Cubs become completely unravelled. Well, there was still the Red Sox. Oops, they lost Game 7 of the ALCS! Well, I'll be pulling for the Marlins. (I pull for anybody playing against the Yankees.)

                        Due to the loss of both of the teams I would have liked to see in the Series, I'm not even sure that I'm going to watch it this year. I can't stand the Yankees, and could care less about the Marlins. The only consolation is that if the fish win, at least they were beaten by the WS champs. It's not much, but at least it's something.

                        That was the best game I have seen in my 27 years as a Yankees fan.... I won't say anything else as it could have just as easily gone the other way and I'd hate to be reading then....

                        Agreed... I have lost some enthusiasm for the World Series even if my Yanks win.... I don't envy Pedro with the Bronx crowd tonight.

                        My prediction-- Pedro only pitches a few and they bring in Wakefield to finish....to what end we will know by midnight....

                        I guess this thread won't die until the end of game seven. I can't believe the Sox didn't roll over after being down so much. Pedro vs The Rocket for all the glory and bragging rights. FOX execs are frothing at the mouth. It just doesn't get any better then those two dueling for the whole enchilada. I predict a different ending to this duel. Popeye better be chained to the dugout.

                        Believe me-- I am no fan of Steinbrenner-- but you have to admire the battle that's going on. Last night-- it was indecisive right to the end. I did not agree with Torre bringing in Rivera in the 8th-- he always runs into trouble when they try pitching him 2 innings...and he did make it interesting when the Sox got another run. Until the end...I had no idea which way the game was going to go-- Wells pitched himself out of a few holes.

                        I am rooting for a Yankees--Cubs series-- but no matter how many times a team wins, I will never root for the Red Sox to avoid a dynasty...all of my ancestors would haunt me. Gotta love a good rivalry Big Smile [:D]

                        With the rain and winds we are getting here near Albany though, it is a good chance that this afternoon's game will be a wash-out...in which case you could see Wakefield pitching Game 6....hmm....

                        They should put a spending cap in baseball, the other sports have it. That way the Boss won't be able to buy his rings. Of course, money didn't win anything for Boston, LA , NY Mets and some of the other high rollers. Look at little Anaheim last year. A victory for the blue collar guys.

                        I've been following the Sox all season, and I have to admit it would be nothing short of miraculous if they won 2 in New York. I think we'll see the Yankees going to the World Series, as usual. Steinbrenner has all the cards. He's got the money and he's willing to spend it. It would be nice if MLB put a spending cap on all the teams to level the playing field a little. Aren't we all getting sick of the Yankees dynasty?

                        It doesn't look good for the boys from beantown. I think they have a chance to win 2 in the Big Apple, but it's not going to be a picnic.
                        The Cubs, on the other hand, are looking poised to take a little rest, after clinching early. Prior looks strong with only giving up 3 hits in the 6th, defense is solid, I may have to celebrate tonight.

                        If the Cubs make the World Series, the network and sponsers will go bananas. If it's Boston and Chicago, they will flip their lids. Could be one of the more watched Series in awhile. Oh, oh.....Yankees now ahead 3-2.
