Me and the girlfriend hit MY hobbytown which is offering me(one of the few modelers) 50% on older stocks now including planes and marine.

 $26 = BAM!

I believe they are gonna run this sale until they are out of stock.  I've been spying a 1/32 Fokker Dr. III anda  1/32 Nuiport 17 for $10 each and I'm about to act

HobbyTownUSA by me is having a unoffical 50% off sale. I saw a Tamiya motorcycle half off and asked about the rest of the bikes being the same. I've been around awhile so I know the owners(who work instore too) and they told me that they were trying to rid the shelves of their odler stock to make way for more. Gave me the numbers for the bar code to look for and they would give 50% on most of them.

90% of them are Cars and Bikes, even though the diffrence is planes they will not be discounting those.

I find that buying/shopping for models is just as and sometimes more exciting then building lol

this is really ironic: my LHS is actually an RC store with a few pieces of armor thrown in ( my fave ) but they usually sell them for 20% off retail. i 've got tamiya's m1a1 and dragon's mk3 J smart kit so far ( $60.00 total )

No hobby lobby near by where I am.  However, my lhs, Baseline models offer 20% off for AMPS members and their price is not too bad either.  Besides, the owner of the shop is very helpful and don't mind driving 30 minutes each way just to support and deal with a friendly shop owner.

Once in a while, I go to Michael's and they have 40-50% off coupons every Sunday on Newsday.  Only thing is, this place is only limited to Cars, aircrafts and some boat models and hobby supplies.

now I feel bad! I went to my local HL Monday, and picked up two Hasegawa 1/48th FW 190 A-3's for $10.76 and a Tamyia Mk5b trop. Spitfire for $21, and thought I stole them! They did have the DO335 two seater for $21 (Tamyia), and wish I'd bought it. I may go back and buy that Do335, but have my eyes on an M1-A1 and the 40% cupon comes out next weekend!

After I got out of the Marines, I worked for the lhs in Omaha.  There are two for the whole area (Owned by the same person).  I thought it would be great.  Wrong. The guy who owns them is a JERK!  He never has sales, and his prices are a little higher than most internet sites.  I wasn't feeling well one day, and went to my car to get some med's.  got called to the office and raked over the coals for taking drugs!  Needless to say, after having my point of view forced upon him, I left and re-enlisted.  Went back in uniform, and told them I went back in the Marines for all the good drug's they had.  I would rather burn my money than buy something from my local lhs's.  Hobby lobby isn't what I call a lhs, but occasionally they will have a sale.  Sorry about the rant.  Just want you to know what we have to deal with in Omaha.

I had good luck at HL too, $28.79 for Revell's 1/48 B-1B.  I'd been stalking it on their clearance rack for months.

I know what you mean, spending 1999-2004 in the NJ-MA area with no Hobby Lobby around was frustrating. Having said that, the HobbyTownUSA in Burlington, Mass. had occasional sidewalk sales where I got huge deals on new Tamiya and Revell of Germany armor kits. Sometimes at savings of up to 75% off. Plus they gave us the 10% IPMS Patriot Club discount.

I do like having a Hobby Lobby 30+ miles away though.

I have to agree that the bargains at times make it all worth while. On a recent trip to the other side of Australia ( sydney as I am in Perth) I discovered a small hobby shop a little down the road from the hotel i was staying at and bought Tamiya's 1/35th tiger I mid prod and Sturmtiger for $80 for the both. Brilliant I thought as these 2 would of cost me $130 back in Perth combined. Love those bargains! Cheers Jim

You got a sweet deal there. I to try to wait till I see something I want go on sale. Last month I added to my stash the 1/35th Leopold from Dragon for $86, and a 1/35th Hind for $79. God knows when I will ever build them all?
