Hi there.
I have never used any photo-etch parts on any of my models, but am very interested in doing so. I have searched these forums and have found many distributors for PE parts. However, I have noticed that most of them are outside the United States and require a considerable amount of money to cover shipping and hanndleing. For example, I wanted to buy Eduards PE set for the British Challenger II Tank. The price for the set was 29 US dollars. Which is no problem. What I am having a problem with is the fact that Eduards web site said that shipping and hanndeling was 27 dollars if being sent to the US.
I am perfectly fine with paying for 30 bucks for the set, but I am having a hard time justifying paying another 30 dollars to have them shipped to me here in Florida.
So, a question for you expirienced modelers out there. Do most of you spend an extra 30 dollars on shipping and just absorb the cost or do you use some sort of third party dealer that allows the shipping to be much less? I am very interested in using photo-etch, but am not willing to pay almost double to have the PE shipped to me. How do some of you go about obtaining your PE parts.
