                        Ok guys and gals of FSM. And I'm talking about the staff here.

                        After reading through a few threads we know that Lawrence built a T34, David builds figs for war gaming and his wife builds NASCAR kits, and Matthew Usher likes classic cars.

                        But I ask you .... where are the pics !!!!!

                        Yes, Matthew has posted his a couple of times, but what about you Lawrence, and you David. Come on, it's time you posted some of your works for the rest of the on-line family to see.

                        Come on guys and gals ..... show us your stuff !!!!
                        Your family awaits.

                        First of all, thanks for asking!

                        As I mentioned in another thread, most of the modeling I've done in the last seven years or so has been for FSM or our sister publication, Scale Auto. The magazine-related projects fill up most of my modeling time, but I'm trying to squeeze in a few just-for-me projects when I can.

                        Another nice looking model Matthew....one problem though! When I see it I want to cry....LOL wish I still had the toy!(referring to the Millineum Falcon) You know how much model stuff could be had by trading that bad boy in for some $$$$$

                        I built the Pontiac for Howard Hoerl, who's a manager in the advertising department here at Kalmbach. His wife used to drive a '59 Pontiac, and he had me build a replica of her car, and gave me a few old snapshots to use as reference. He gave it to her as an anniversary present, if I remember correctly.

                        I love building replicas for people. It's very rewarding. I have a great "thank you" note from her pinned to the bulletin board over my workbench. It's better than any contest trophy.

                        Yep, I'm a Star Wars fan, but I do tend to lean more toward the three original films. They're a little more fun, I think.

                        My Falcon has Falcon Kits' cast-resin side panels, and a LightSheet engine and cockpit illumination. The stand is from AMT/Ertl's TIE Fighter kit.

                        I'm glad you like it!

                        LightSheet comes in blue and white, and is actually much brighter and more vibrant than it appears in the photos. I haven't tried it yet, but from what I hear you can put translucent "gel" filters over the white sheet to make almost any color. It's essentially a thin (about .020"), flexible sheet of plastic that glows like neon.

                        And best of all, the folks at LightSheet are modelers, so they make several pre-packaged sets for popluar models. They offer a set for the Falcon, the Shuttle Tyderium, and several of the most-recent Star Trek Enterprises.

                        Great stuff.

                        Seriously, it seems I have a problem completing kits. I usually get stuck on the painting. I have so many models at various stages of painting, but none finished.

                        I took a couple of pictures last night, but they turned out too dark. It's been awhile since I used our digital camera and I forgot how touchy it was with lighting. I'll have to try it again tonight.

                        I have a ton of gray sprues. All washed and organized. Their miniatures which is more about quantity over quality. To get them all painted up to play Warhammer, it's more like an assembly line. But it's difficult to get into that mentality. I tend to take my time on each piece. After a couple of hours I look at what I have done and then look at the 20 other similiar pieces and get depressed. And that's just for a single regiment. There's more needed to complete the army.
