Model Regression

Greetings All, Like most probably I have had some ups and downs in the hobby when it comes to output of completed kits. However, I have achieved what I would like to consider above average status in the quality of work and right now I feel there is no kit I really could not tackle and complete to a satisfactory or better level. Lately though, I have been busy working on older kits (Revell-Monogram and Airfix), building them out of the box but spending time finishing them as I would the latest offerings from Tamiya, Dragon, MPM, Eduard, AM, etc. This is a blast! I don't know if this is nostalgia, a form of AMS, or just pure simple child-like regression. My wife would go with the latter, but she tends to refer to the hobby in genreal like that. I prefer to call it nostalgia. Is anyone now or have they previously experienced a pattern (I refuse to call it a rut as ruts carry a negative connotation) like this? Just thought it would make for an interesting discussion...
Cheers, Matt
