A week or so ago, I was at my LHS and saw that they still had a kit I had wanted on their shelf. It was marked way down, but was still a little more than I could comfortably pay. I asked the owner about it, and he gave me a lower price yet! I still hesitated, thinking maybe in a few more months I could afford it.
Well, today I got a bonus check from work for the same amount as the model and I thought "TODAY IS THE DAY!" so I called the LHS to make sure it was still there.
He told me they sold it yesterday.
I was crushed! I was having a rough day at work and the thought of going and picking up that kit would make me feel better. Now the day got even worse. No kit. Bummer.
I come home from work, thoroughly down and explain why to my girlfriend. She says "I think I may be able to help you feel better" and I think "Yeah, right."
Guess what she had done? I had called her earlier in the day and told her what a day it had been. She was off today, so she called the LHS to find out if the kit was still there, and it was. She went and picked it up for me, and had it here when I got home. I COULDN'T BELIEVE IT!!! Is she amazing, or what? She told the owner of the LHS that if I called or came to pick it up not to tell me she was there getting it for me. So, I thought somebody else had gotten it. But no! I DID!!! Here's what I found waiting for me when I got home tonight:
A 1/32 Tamiya F-16C Thunderbirds!
